Position Responsibilities:
  • Plan, oversee, produce, and edit a variety of video content initiatives for the Columbus Crew and MAPFRE Stadium
  • Develop shot lists, storyboard shoots and edit content initiatives for the club, or delegate as necessary
  • Manage owned digital media platforms (YouTube, Brightcove) for the club, optimizing content branding, thumbnails, titles, keywords, etc. to maximize fan engagement
  • Assist digital department in storyboarding/shooting/editing any material to promote the club and the stadium
  • Strategically and independently plan long-term video projects
  • Oversee all post-production work to ensure all content is edited to the standards of the club
  • Provide content requested by Major League Soccer on a weekly basis (player sound bites, player b-roll, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Public Relations and technical staff on team availability and projects
  • Manage relationship with and provide content to local media for newscast use as requested
  • Oversee the design, creation, and placement of graphics, lower thirds, animations and subtitles on club content as necessary
  • Maintain and manage upkeep of all club-owned equipment
  • Manage club server organization and all archiving processes
  • Capture video content at matches and occasional training sessions, club and community events
  • Manage schedule and duties of Video Production Coordinator and Video Production Intern
 
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • 3+ years experience in a videographer or content editing role
  • Strong experience with video editing software (Final Cut, Adobe Premier, AVID, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of the game of soccer, MLS, and the Columbus Crew
  • Proactive, high attention to detail, and ability to plan and work independently
  • Excellent project management and long-term content planning skills
  • A level of creativity and a good understanding of shooting and editing video for websites
  • Proficiency with HTML and working in content management systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with first team technical staff, coaches, and players 
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate across multiple departments
  • Capable of using all applications in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to carry and maneuver equipment of 30 lbs. or more
  • Proficiency with existing club equipment (Canon C200s, Canon 6D Mark II)
  • Occasional travel required
