TITLE: Carolina Core FC Head Scout

REPORTS TO: Chief Sporting Officer

Position Overview

Carolina Core FC is searching for an ambitious and motivated individual to fill the Head Scouting role for our MLS NEXT Pro team and its Academy teams. This person will be responsible for driving the development, implementation, and operation of the club’s scouting program.

Essential Functions

Through expertise and experience, lead in the design and formation of the CCFC Scouting and Recruiting Department
Collaborate with the technical staff in developing and managing the overall strategic plan for scouting and recruiting talent
Work with the technical staff in determining and developing the club’s player identification philosophies
Recruit and identify players based on the club’s technical, tactical and playing methodologies as determined by our style of play
Establish target markets in conjunction with the technical staff and Chief Sporting Officer
Discover and recruit both domestic and international talent
Evaluate, rank and track players of interest as well as potential player acquisitions
Build and manage the club’s player database in conjunction with the technical staff
Develop and foster both existing and new relationships with stakeholders in our geographical region, inclusive of clubs, Directors, and Coaches, to create positive working relationships that increase our scouting and recruitment network
Attend all MLS NEXT Pro/Academy training sessions when available
Assist Head Coach by creating scouting reports on upcoming opponents and by preparing pre-match video analysis for weekly team review
Assist Head Coach by creating post-match video analysis for weekly team review
Organize monthly scouting presentations that outline the status quo of potential player targets and acquisitions
As Head Scout, design and implement Academy ID events and MLS NEXT Pro on-site trials for prospective players
Participate in off-field activities and events such as community engagements and appearances

Qualifications

USSF B license or equivalent required
Collegiate or professional playing background preferred
Previous scouting experience at an elite youth or professional level preferred
Experience using performance analysis and video editing software required
Have a willingness to embrace data and analytics
Possess a real desire to be in the role
