THE OPPORTUNITY

The Goalkeeper Coach will play a critical role in developing the club's goalkeepers while also serving as a key contributor to player analysis, recruitment, and overall sporting operations. Working closely with the Head Coach, technical leadership, and performance staff, the Goalkeeper Coach will lead the development of the club's goalkeepers, support tactical preparation through video analysis, and assist in identifying and evaluating talent that aligns with Carolina Core FC's long-term vision.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Goalkeeper Coach leads all aspects of goalkeeper development for the first team while supporting the club's player recruitment, performance analysis, and sporting operations.
The Goalkeeper Coach will design and deliver goalkeeper training sessions, prepare goalkeepers for competition, conduct individual performance analysis, contribute to opponent scouting, and assist in identifying and evaluating players who fit the club's playing model and culture.
Success in this role will be measured through goalkeeper development, contribution to team performance, quality of analytical support, effectiveness in talent identification, coaching collaboration, and alignment with Carolina Core FC's values and long-term vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Goalkeeper Development
- Plan, organize, and deliver daily goalkeeper training sessions that align with the club's playing model and tactical philosophy.
- Develop goalkeepers technically, tactically, physically, and mentally to maximize individual and team performance.
- Provide individualized coaching, feedback, and mentorship to support continuous improvement.
- Prepare goalkeepers for matchday through tactical preparation, opponent tendencies, and game-specific planning.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Coach and performance staff to integrate goalkeepers into all phases of team training.
- Develop and monitor Individual Development Plans for each goalkeeper.
Performance Analysis
- Lead video analysis of goalkeeper performances to identify strengths, improvement opportunities, and development priorities.
- Support first-team analysis through opponent scouting, match review, and tactical reporting.
- Utilize video, statistical analysis, and performance data to inform coaching decisions and player development.
- Prepare analytical presentations and reports for coaching staff, players, and technical leadership.
- Continuously evaluate emerging analytical tools and technologies that improve performance and decision-making.
Talent Identification & Recruitment
- Support the club's recruitment strategy through scouting, player evaluation, and talent identification.
- Lead goalkeeper scouting efforts while assisting with evaluation of field players as needed.
- Produce written scouting reports and recruitment recommendations for technical leadership.
- Attend matches, showcases, tournaments, and scouting events as assigned.
- Maintain relationships within the soccer community to strengthen Carolina Core FC's recruitment network and player pipeline.
- Collaborate with academy, MLS, and external partners to identify players aligned with the club's philosophy.
Sporting Operations & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the Head Coach, technical staff, performance staff, and medical staff to support daily first-team operations.
- Assist with training design, match preparation, and implementation of the club's game model.
- Support roster planning discussions through player evaluations and analytical insights.
- Contribute to a high-performance environment built on preparation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Culture & Organizational Alignment
- Model Carolina Core FC's values through daily leadership and professionalism.
- Help create a team environment built on trust, accountability, competitiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Build positive relationships across the organization, including players, staff, academy partners, and community stakeholders.
- Represent Carolina Core FC professionally across league, community, and partner engagements.
- Maintain compliance with all league, federation, and club policies.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The Goalkeeper Coach will be evaluated across six core pillars:
- Goalkeeper Development: Improvement of individual goalkeepers and contribution to team defensive performance.
- Performance Analysis: Quality, accuracy, and impact of analytical support for coaches and players.
- Talent Identification: Effectiveness in identifying and evaluating players that strengthen the club.
- Coaching Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with the Head Coach, technical staff, and broader organization.
- Standards & Culture: Reinforcement of accountability, professionalism, and Carolina Core FC values.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to innovation, learning, and advancing the club's sporting operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional goalkeeper coaching experience preferred; experience within a professional, academy, collegiate, or elite competitive environment required.
- USSF Goalkeeper License and USSF "A" or “B” Coaching License. Candidates actively pursuing advanced coaching licenses will be considered.
- Experience in video analysis platforms (Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Spiideo, or similar) preferred.
- Experience in player scouting, recruitment, and talent evaluation.
- Strong understanding of goalkeeper methodology, tactical concepts, player development, and match analysis.
- Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary high-performance environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to preparation.
- Passion for developing players, identifying talent, and strengthening the overall soccer ecosystem.
