Position/Title: Communications Intern
Under the Direction: Communications & Marketing Manager
Compensation: College Credit - This position is non-paid
Role Overview
The Communications Intern will support the day-to-day execution of media relations, content creation, and club communications efforts. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented individual looking to gain hands-on experience in professional sports communications.
Intern Role:
- Assist with game day communications operations, including media credentialing, press box support, and post-match materials
- Draft and distribute press releases, match notes, and media advisories
- Support media relations efforts, including maintaining media lists and coordinating interview requests
- Contribute to content creation across digital platforms (website, email, and social media)
- Assist with stat tracking, match recaps, and historical archives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, social, and partnerships teams
- Monitor media coverage and compile press clippings and reports
- Provide general administrative support to the marketing team
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Sports Management, Journalism, or related field
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- General knowledge and interest of sports is preferred
- Experience with social media platforms and digital content tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Openness to learn
- Collaborative, hard working and has a positive attitude
- Available for home matches during the time of your internship May - August
