Title: Head of Performance
Reports to: Chief Sporting Officer
 
 Position Summary: The Head of Performance will:
 
1.     Build out Carolina Core’s (CCFC) Strength and Conditioning Program
2.     Plan, deliver and evaluate physical development sessions to maximize individual player development and performance
3.     Work seamlessly with the Technical and Medical staffs in the management of player recovery, nutrition, wellbeing and RTP protocols

 Essential Functions
 
  • Manage the programming and delivery of physical conditioning/speed and agility sessions throughout the season
  • Conduct team warmups before training sessions and matches
  • Lead and facilitate in the areas of mobility, activation, post-session gym workouts, cool-downs and post-game recovery
  • Execute the monitoring and assessment of player physical development via data monitoring and collection (GPS, etc.)  
  • Organize, manage, and analyze post-session and post-game data in order to provide feedback to coaches and players
  • Collaborate with coaching staff and medical team to help establish and manage player internal and external loads
  • Assist in determining player participation in training each morning, when applicable
  • Under the leadership of the medical staff and head coach, assist in establishing return to play protocols
  • Assist in player rehabilitation by following the lead of the medical staff
  • Assist players in the proper application of appropriate nutrition and hydration solutions for practice, competition, and travel
  • Develop periodized strength programming aligned with the soccer season, adjusting loads across preseason, in-season, and postseason phases
  • Conduct body composition assessments and provide individualized nutrition recommendations to support athlete performance and long-term development
  • Implement the periodization of the CCFC team preseason, in season and off-season programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related or Exercise/Sports Science field
  • NCSA-CSCS Certified
  • Prior playing experience and/or applied soccer experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with data monitoring/player GPS tracking systems
