Who are we hiring?
The KC Current is seeking a Sr. Account Executive to add to our Sales and Service team. This role will be responsible for selling full menu ticket plans including season tickets, group outings, and premium hospitality to maximize revenue opportunities while delivering world-class service to our fans. The Account Executive will accomplish this through prospecting, strategic touchpoints, setting meetings, establishing a network, and building a robust pipeline. The Account Executive in this role will report directly to the Director of Ticket Sales and Service. 

What will you do?
Core Responsibilities
  • Work directly with Member Relations Manager on member communication plan.
  • Identify unique touchpoint opportunities for members to enhance relationships. 
  • Contribute to annual renewal and retention strategic planning and timeline to increase season ticket member renewal and engagement.
  • Work directly with the Member Relations Manager to plan and execute year-round member events and experiences. 
 
General Responsibilities
  • Successfully achieve or exceed season ticket renewal goal for your assigned book of business and contribute to the overall renewal and revenue of the Kansas City Current. 
  • Effectively and efficiently manage assigned book of business by engaging with members through daily out bound activity to include phone calls, emails, in person meetings etc. 
  • Prospect and qualify new potential sales opportunities across the KC-Metro region for KC Current matches and additional ticketed events at CPKC Stadium.
  • Exceed individual sales goals, weekly meeting quotas, and outbound activity targets.
  • Execute and lead dynamic sales presentations, both on-site and offsite at prospect locations throughout the KC-Metro region. 
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and future clients to grow prospect pool and increase revenue opportunities.
  • Represent the Current at local networking, community, and corporate events to generate awareness, excitement, and sales leads throughout the region.
  • Consistently and effectively manage a robust sales pipeline while providing updates and forecasts to the Director of Ticket Sales & Service. 
  • Utilizes Dynamics CRM system to manage accounts, pipelines, sales process, and activity.
  • Create, track, develop and maintain all proposals, research, contracts and follow all sales processes diligently. 
  • Clearly and effectively communicate personally and professionally within all levels of a company, both internally and externally. 
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all fans and guests of CPKC Stadium. 
  • Perform game-day responsibilities, including entertaining clients and creating new business opportunities.
  • Participate and contribute to weekly sales and service department huddles and training sessions.
  • Assist with any other special projects or duties as assigned.
 
What do you need to succeed?
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of sports and sports teams
  • Minimum of two or three years of sales experience preferred.
  • Confidence with face-to-face selling and ability to build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders in the market.
  • In lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience, four years of sales experience with experience in formalizing sales proposals may be considered. 
  • Local market knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across all departments and have a team-first mentality.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with ability to consistently travel to offsite client meetings. 
 
Special requirements of the Job:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives. 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions.
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
