We’re making history in Kansas City. The Current are building the first stadium purpose-built for a National Women’s Soccer League team in the country. The stadium is expected to be complete in the spring of 2024. With a capacity of 11,500, it’s also the first stadium built for a single professional sports team in the history of downtown KC. Located next to Berkley Riverfront Park it will be easily accessible for all modes of transportation and the stadium will become a hub for the growth of the downtown KC and a more impactful future, including being a host city for the World Cup in 2026!
The Current training complex and staff facilities are also first of its kind in the world. Opened on June 21, 2022, it’s the first training complex built specifically for a women's professional sports team.
Founded in December 2020, the Kansas City Current is led by the ownership group of Angie Long, Chris Long, Brittany Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes. Their vision for what’s never been done before is setting the standard for not just the NWSL but the world of sports. Here in the Soccer Capital of America, we are honored to be a host city for the World Cup in 2026 where both our Training Center and stadium are expected to be utilized by the best men’s teams in the world.
The Kansas City Current is seeking a visionary Director, Production and Broadcast Studio to lead and evolve the club’s end-to-end content and broadcast ecosystem across CPKC Stadium and Current Landing. This role will drive the strategic vision for studio programming, live match coverage, and in-venue production, while overseeing studio operations, control room workflows, technical infrastructure, and production teams. The ideal candidate brings strong sports broadcasting leadership experience, a deep understanding of modern production and digital distribution, and a passion for storytelling that elevates women’s sports, along with the flexibility to support matchday and event operations.
Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to:
- Coordinating bookings, scheduling, and daily operations of the KC Current Production and Broadcast studio.
- Serve as the primary point of communication with internal departments, players and outside media.
- Manage studio calendar, usage requests, and content capture sessions.
- Assist producers with logistics, run-of-show planning, guest needs, call sheets and asset tracking.
- Managing equipment inventory
- Maintain studio readiness: lighting check, set prep, props, wardrobe coordination, and cleanliness
- Track deliverables and postproduction handoffs to social, digital, or external media partners
Required Skills/Abilities:

Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- Education: Four-year undergraduate college degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in journalism, audio/video production, sports communications, public relations or media (internship or professional)
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of media relations practices, particularly within sports.
- Familiarity with soccer or professional sports is preferred.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ENPS, Avid, and comfort with media monitoring/distribution platforms.
- Ability to manage concurrent projects with overlapping timelines.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking long distance.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
