Who are we hiring? 
The Kansas City Current is hiring a Coordinator, Event Production, responsible for supporting all technical production elements, including set and strike across CPKC Stadium, Riverside Stadium and Current Landing. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality event execution for both internal and external clients, enhancing overall guest and partner experience through seamless coordination of sound and video systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on technical experience, strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in live event environments where precision and professionalism are critical.

As an applicant you should have:
  • Hands-on experience coordinating audio, visual and lighting production elements for live events or entertainment venues
  • The ability to manage technical logistics and communicate effectively with multiple internal teams and external vendors
  • A strong sense of initiative and ownership of event quality, with an eye on enhancing guest experience through technology
  • Problem-solving skills for real-time troubleshooting and quick adaptation during live events
  • Familiarity with stadium or venue operations, including setup, strike and cross-productions
 
What will you do?
  • Coordinate setup, testing and execution of audio and visual equipment for CPKC Stadium, Riverside Stadium and Current Landing events using in-house systems and coordinating rentals for additional needs
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for production vendors, including lighting, audio and AV partners for all venue events
  • Manage the inventory, upkeep and maintenance of all in-house AV equipment including TVs, field boards, scoreboards, fascia boards and audio systems
  • Support the Events Sales and Operations teams by providing expertise, layouts and creative recommendations to enhance event productions
  • Recommend and integrate custom production elements to elevate the client and fan experience through creative use of AV systems, lighting and effects
  • Document event-day setups, production plans and outcomes for post-event analysis and continuous improvement
 
What do you need to succeed? 

Technical Skills
  • Experience executing or coordinating AV and production systems in live event or sports environments
  • Familiarity with equipment such as video boards, control room systems, mixers, playback server and lighting consoles
  • Knowledge of signal flow, AV networking and troubleshooting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic familiarity with production planning software
  • Comfort working with vendors and integrating rental equipment or supplemental systems when required
  • Experience with Q-SYS, Dante A/V, and VITEC IPTV solutions are a plus

Team Member Abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent events
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with technical crews, operations staff and clients
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting and cross-department coordination
  • Initiative to identify process improvements and elevate event production quality

Education & Experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Audio/Visual Production or related field
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in live event production, AV coordination or venue operations
  • Experience in a sports or entertainment venue preferred

Professional Skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Team-oriented with a service-first approach to guest and partner experience
  • Willingness to learn new systems, technologies and event production workflows

Special requirements of the Job: 
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives.
  • Travel may be required – 5%
  • Physical requirements include lifting or carrying 50 pounds, working at heights, standing or walking for extended periods and working in outdoor weather conditions.
