Purpose of the Job
This role is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of parking logistics, security coordination, and credentialing operations to ensure the safe and efficient execution of events at Shell Energy Stadium. Serving as a key liaison between internal departments, city agencies, and external partners, this position plays a vital role in maintaining public safety, operational readiness, and an exceptional guest experience. The role supports matchday and event operations by overseeing staffing, training, access control, and logistical planning, aligning closely with the club’s commitment to professionalism, safety, and community engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee parking operations and logistics, including creating parking lists and coordinating with multiple stakeholders (Astros, LAM, TSU) for match and event days.
- Serve as the main point of contact for city agencies (HPD, HCSO, City of Houston, Metro) to coordinate street closures, law enforcement presence, and public transit updates for events.
- Act as the security liaison for MLS NextPro, handling referee coordination, league communications, and required surveys.
- Coordinate parking communications by relaying needs to the box office and distributing MD-1 parking emails to the appropriate parties.
- Lead daily operational support, including facility tours, officer onboarding, and managing day-to-day requests from the base.
- Liaise with fire marshals and schedule their presence for matches/events to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Schedules and communicates event staffing needs to external security partners (e.g., 5Star) and ensure proper coverage for all events.
- Coordinate and lead training sessions for security staff at the start of the season and as needed throughout the year.
- Manage parking communications, including sending needs to the box office and issuing MD-1 parking emails to relevant parties.
- Manage contracted PT security and parking staff for the stadium and Houston Sports Park.
- Order, maintain, and distribute security-related supplies such as wristbands, bag tags, and credentialing materials.
- Develop and distribute event-specific security and command schedules, including on-site personnel lists.
- Coordinate logistics with the collegiate athletic program directors on bus parking and gameday support.
- Manage credentialing processes by issuing full-season and day passes for staff, vendors, teams, and officials, and maintain credential boards across venues.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
- 3 years of security or event operations experience, ideally in stadium environments supporting sports teams, concerts, or other large-scale live entertainment events – Required.
