The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.
The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Dynamo and Dash Charities is seeking a highly motivated community relations professional to join our team as a Part Time Charities Assistant within the Charities and Community Engagement teams. This person will support the Sr Coordinator with tasks related to community activations, grassroots projects, 50/50 Raffle, etc.
The Community Engagement department and Dynamo and Dash Charities has two roles: maintaining and building relationships with the community through a variety of community outreach efforts including but not limited to school visits, youth clinics and player appearances. Dynamo and Dash Charities is the charitable arm of the Houston Dynamo and Dash, focusing on giving back to the community through ticket and equipment donations as well as other charitable giving and fundraising events throughout the year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Communicating with potential sponsors in an effort to secure funding for programs
- Assisting with Game Day duties
- Coordinating the ticket donation and in-kind donation programs.
- Developing and implementing Community events for the Dynamo and Dash
- Representing the Dynamo and Dash in the community through player appearances
- Coordinating with other non-profits or groups for events and charity ticket distributions
- Writing thank you letters and receipts
- Assisting with planning and implementation of charity events throughout the year
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 0-1 years of related community relations experience
- Maintain and exhibit a “team first” attitude.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in the presence of clients, players, VIPs.
- Candidates should exhibit a strong desire to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrate a positive outlook that values customer service.
- Exhibit a passion to succeed in the sports industry.
- Ability to adapt to various circumstances.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Bilingual English/Spanish – preferred
