THE POSITION Main activities and responsibilities
Reporting organisationally to the Senior Manager Venue Technology, the Venue Technology Manager-Toronto, will be a key member of the FIFA26 Technology team, and support the Technology team with venue specific technology related deliverables in Toronto for the FIFA World Cup 26™.
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Venue Technology Manager-Toronto, for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Coordinating with all relevant parties for planning, implementation, readiness, and operations of all Event Technology services pertinent to the tournament and/or associated events within Toronto.
- Responsible for ensuring all aspects of Technology, Telecommunications and Broadcast Technology Services are implemented in accordance with the pre-agreed FIFA technology requirements at the assigned venue(s).
- Manage a strong diverse Technology team composted of paid staff, contractors, and volunteers for operating technology services at the assigned venue(s).
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups, clients, providers, and government entities in relation to ensuring the delivery of technology services across all venues, in accordance with the defined government structure.
- Manage and contribute to the venue technology working groups in accordance with the agreed governance structure across all aspects of the tournament programme (planning, implementation, readiness and operations).
- Manage the technology demand/needs requirements for technology services across the tournament space (Technology Equipment Allocation Process).
- Plan the delivery of suitable end user technology equipment and services to all FWC 2026 departments in Toronto and FIFA constituent groups, including hardware, services and consumables.
- Facilitate the collection and distribution of technology requirements of all client groups involved in the FWC 2026 across all client groups, including, Media, Broadcast, Guest Operations, Commercial, Football Technology etc.
- Ensure that all information pertaining to infrastructure, services and spaces needed for the delivery and support of all technology services are communicated to, and understood by, venue/site authorities and respective delivery teams.
- Provide guidance and direction to relevant teams on matters relating to the structural build-out and technology services implementation, including the commissioning and final decommissioning of all tournament venues in Toronto.
- In collaboration with assigned personnel and Stadium partners, relevant parties (private and governmental) enable/support the timely delivery of venue technology services.
- Identify and report on the progress of all critical dependencies in accordance with the reporting methodologies.
- Manage the asset tracking and management of deployed technology equipment.
- Track the progress of structural build-out and IT implementation leading up to the timely availability of components and services and including the commissioning and final decommissioning of the venues in Toronto.
- Develop regular progress, risk and issue management reports in accordance with the governance structure/reporting methodologies and, or PMO systems.
- Follow-up with various stakeholders, providers, and government entities in relation to ensuring delivery of technology services/dependencies as per agreed requirements, service levels etc.
- Support and ensure the team adhere to the IT Service management protocols.
- Ensure positive attitude from the Venue Technology teams and good relationship with all the parties, including FIFA teams, Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS) areas/projects, end-users, suppliers, Host Country/ City counterparts.
- Manage the on-site IT Technicians and support teams during tournament time operations, including end of day reporting and incident escalation to IT Command Centre.
- Day to day, you will work out of the local Toronto headquarters, however, occasional travel to Vancouver, Mexico and/or US may be required.

Education & Qualifications
- University degree or similar higher education, in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 8 years overall IT experience and minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role within the sporting/major events industry.
- Proven track record of successful delivery of complex IT programs and projects.
- Knowledge of venue technology services across major sporting events.
- Up to date knowledge and project management expertise in all event related technologies, including, all types of technology business solutions, community access TV (CATV), radio communications, wired communication, printing, broadcast contribution network, spectrum, audio and visual.
- Ability to always maintain a professional demeanour.
- Excellent cross group collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to lead virtual teams across groups, conflict management and driving consensus to deliver on program milestones.
- Good Leadership skills and able to manage and motivate other team members.
- Highly adept at consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building and facilitation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, training, and presentation skills.

Languages
- Fluent in English. French proficiency is a plus.
