THE POSITION Reporting organisationally to the Head of Marketing Rights Delivery, the Commercial Operations Host City Specialist will be a key member of the Host Country Commercial Operations team. They will work in collaboration with their assigned FIFA World Cup 26 Host City [Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey] and individuals from other key FWC26 functional areas responsible for ensuring all rights granted by FIFA to Host Cities are managed and executed accordingly.
The main responsibilities of the Commercial Operations Host City Specialist for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Organize and deliver efficient communications between FIFA26 Mexico, the Host City Committee and other stakeholders.
- Work with Host Cities and FIFA Commercial Sales & Partnership teams to manage commercial rights to be granted to or by Host Cities.
- Aid Host Cities in fundraising efforts by supporting their day-to-day commercial activities.
- Ensure that FIFA rights and assets are leveraged in accordance with Brand Guidelines and facilitate approvals on all project-based initiatives, including Host City and Supporter IP usage and licensing premiums.
- Ensure that any Host City Supporter deals are within FIFA regulations and contracted by and signed off by FIFA Commercial Legal.
- Provide governance of the Host Cities commercial operations at FIFA Fan Festival.
- Assist in the operational requirements for all FWC26 Canada & Host City milestones.
- Leverage CRM tools for ongoing project planning and reporting purposes.
- Create cross-collaborative environment with FIFA Commercial Sales & Partnerships, Commercial Legal, Licensing & Retail, Brand & Marketing, FIFA Films & Content Production, Digital, Communications, Fan Festivals, FIFA Trophy Tour, amongst others.
- Any other duties that may be required.
- Travel to the US and/or Canada may be required to reflect the business needs of the department (meetings, workshops, site visits etc.).
- This role will be based in CDMX, Guadalajara or Monterrey.
YOUR PROFILE - Fluent in English.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar higher education in Business Administration, Sport Administration, Marketing, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a relevant marketing, client service or rights delivery role.
- Proven track-record in managing complex projects.
- The following strengths: collaboration, motivational leadership, excellent communication skills and positive relationship-management skills.
- Ability to adopt a strategic view, make decisions, and act promptly.
- Ability to operate in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
- Ability to work cross-collaboratively across a variety of functional areas.
- Experience in Sports industry is a benefit.
- Experience in working with government stakeholders, tourism bodies and international offices/staff is a benefit.
