Job Title: Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Enterprise Public Affairs

Position Summary: FC Cincinnati is seeking an excellent communicator, writer, and civic-minded individual for the role of Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Enterprise Public Affairs (“Sr. Manager”).  The position requires a collaborative professional who can work closely with Enterprise leaders to draft business side corporate communications and public affairs and help manage internal communications. The Sr. Manager must be skilled in developing media statements and press releases, reports, presentations, speeches, newsletters and e-mail, and all other written communication and content consistent with FC Cincinnati’s brand and narrative.  The Sr. Manager must have skill in building and maintaining relationships in all sectors of the community, capitalizing on the existing strong relationships FC Cincinnati has developed throughout the City and region, and ensure the Enterprise team continues to provide timely information to all stakeholders in a transparent manner. The role requires an understanding of the history of FC Cincinnati, the unique role FC Cincinnati holds within the community, and the club’s commitment to its employees, the City of Cincinnati, and the region’s civic life. 

What You’ll Do: 
  • Consult with Enterprise leaders to draft business side communications and manage crisis communications process;
  • Write and develop communications materials for Enterprise leaders for the purpose of sharing with external stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with internal leaders in marketing and communications, finance, human resources, legal, government relations, and community relations to develop consistent messaging across the organization;
  • Develop messaging to reach key stakeholders, internal and external, including owners, employees, community, and the general public;
  • Particularized focus on enhancing employee communications to meaningfully engage FC Cincinnati staff while balancing executive level needs;
  • Produce materials for updates including company reporting, presentations, Lion Ventures, and leadership and owner updates; 
  • Develop a keen understanding of the various work of the Enterprise and Senior Leadership teams in order to effectively contribute to public affairs strategies for leaders;
  • Stay abreast of local, national, and international current events that may impact internal and external stakeholders and leverage that understanding to grow impact; 
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders; 
  • Manage simultaneous priorities to meet aggressive deadlines with exceptional standards for quality;
  • Demonstrate professionalism and comfort interacting with leaders and employees across all levels of the organization.
  • Perform such other duties as directed.

  • Excellent writer and editor with precise attention to detail and in-depth understanding of best writing and messaging practices for media communications, business correspondence, and public relations.
  • Advanced verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with crisis management and crisis preparedness.
  • Ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments.
  • Advanced data analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Understanding of the history of FC Cincinnati and the evolving business, community, and political dynamics within which the club operates.
  • Proactive, reliable, and responsible self-starter with a commitment to learning.
  • Highly organized planner with strong time management skills.
  • Passion for civic engagement.
  • Ability to read complex human and organizational dynamics.

 About FC Cincinnati:
FC Cincinnati is a Major League Soccer team playing at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Originally founded in 2015 by Carl H. Lindner III and Co-CEO Jeff Berding, FCC began play in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2016. FCC entered MLS as the 24th team in 2019. The club’s wide and diverse ownership group is led by controlling owner Lindner III; as well as managing owners Meg Whitman and Dr. Griff Harsh; Scott Farmer; and George Joseph. FC Cincinnati opened the club’s privately
