JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is designed for upper-level Athletic Training or Exercise Science students seeking hands-on experience in sports medicine. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation and with external partners. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail are essential.
This is an unpaid internship. To qualify, candidates must be eligible to receive course credit for the internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under supervision, evaluate, treat, and document injuries
- Under supervision, develop, supervise, and revise rehabilitation programs
- Under supervision, cover and implement pre-game, in-game, and post-game treatments
- Set up and take down game equipment
- Prepare equipment needed for each game
- All other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Strong work ethic in working with athletes and all assigned tasks
- Independent drive to improve athletic training skills and knowledge
- Effective communication with supervisors, peers, athletes, and coaches
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to receive feedback, critiques, and direction given to improve skills and knowledge
- The selected candidate must pass a background check.
- To be considered, you must be eligible to earn college credit for the internship.
- To be considered, MSAT applicants must be enrolled in a CAATE program. Students in the final year of their program are given first consideration, followed by students in their second-to-last year.
