The D.C. United Communications and Content team is looking for a talented undergraduate or graduate student to join us as a video production intern for the Fall of 2025. The D.C. United Video Production Intern will gain hands-on experience in a professional sports environment, enhance video production skills, and contribute content to the organization.
Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship. To be qualified, applicants must be earning course credit at an accredited college or university for participating in the internship.
Requirements include:
- A website or video portfolio showcasing the applicant’s videography skills.
- Camera equipment necessary for shooting sports and a variety of events.
- The ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The opportunity will help fulfill internship requirements and offer the chance to expand a personal portfolio for future career prospects. Ability to work on-site is required for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
- Assist the video team with filming matches, training sessions, community events, partnerships, and marketing activations.
- Support the video team with filming studio shoots and behind-the-scenes content.
- Participate in department meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Help in organizing and maintaining the club’s digital video archive.
- Represent D.C. United positively in all video content created.
- Maximum of twenty-five (25) office hours per week from August 2025 to December 2025.
Key Qualities Include:
- Ability to capture dynamic and defining moments through video.
- Proficiency in filming in various environments and settings.
- Experience editing videos according to D.C. United’s brand guidelines.
- Strong understanding of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, and After Effects.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of professional video gear, including cameras, stabilizers, and lighting equipment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be an active college or graduate student and able to receive credit for the internship.
- Must have an existing video portfolio demonstrating videography skills and experience.
- The selected candidate must pass a background check.
