Overview
Columbus Crew is searching for an energetic and passionate individual to support our Soccer Operations group in the role of Team Coordinator of Academy Teams. As a member of the Soccer Operations department within Columbus Crew, you will provide comprehensive administrative, travel, logistical and operational support for the Academy teams.  This role will also include connecting with the Crew 2, First Team and building administrative staff to ensure streamlined operations. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all elements of the Academy Teams logistics and scheduling including but not limited to:
    • Assisting in the planning and execution of team travel
    • Helping to organize preseason and team practice schedules
    • Organizing the reporting of all Academy Team related expenses for each age group and preseason
    • Planning & execution of all team travel including league events
    • Assist and be of service to all team operation departments while in travel with the team; equipment, medical, coaching, administrative
    • All annual team scheduling
  • Responsible for all team roster administration including online platforms, team communication and contact strategy
  • Responsible for league administration and relations that include but not limited to rosters, games, registration fees, operational and competition guidelines
  • Work with the Crew 2, First Team and building administrative staff to ensure streamlined operations and collaborative communications between each group. 
  • Work with the commercial and operations departments on game operations requirements for the Academy home fixtures
  • Coordinate with Academy operations manager, Academy Director and Director of Soccer Administration on the submission of the Academy Team budget and subsequent tracking of all team and staff expenses
  • Respond to public and internal inquiries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Assist with day-to-day administration of database, correspondences, mailings and inquiries
  • Participate in the Homestay program as it relates to its organization, management and communication to the host and originating families.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and business plan development of the Academy Teams
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times; maintain confidentiality, take pride in the organization, its people and the role
  • Establish and build strong professional relationships with a wide array of individuals within the industry
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as required
  • Ability to travel for periods of time during the season.
 
 Requirements
  • Sport Management or related business degree preferred
  • Excellent in administrative skills and proficient in MS Office
  • Previous experience in designing strategic plans, presentations for organizations 
  • A second language would be considered an asset 
  • An ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction
  • Ability to think quickly and act with urgency attention to detail
  • A creative self-starter, driven by results and alert to change
  • Proven to perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities simultaneously 
  • Previous experience handling budgets and expense reports an asset
  • On-call availability with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent knowledge of Columbus and its surroundings
