Columbus Crew is searching for an energetic and passionate individual for an Assistant Video Coach Analyst full time role. This individual will help facilitate and manage all performance and technical related video production for First Team training and games but also be responsible for video components across the entire player pathway (first team, second team and academy) Within this role, the individual should be prepared to create and execute video product at a professional level, work with athlete database technology and platforms, create productive relationships with colleagues and athletes, and have a deep passion for the game. 

Responsibilities
  • Manage and be held accountable for video recording, coding & sharing of all First Team training sessions and games.
  • Assist in the creation of all pre-game and post-game presentations for the preparation of the team.
  • Provide video & data analysis reports of opponent individual players.
  • Provide detailed insights on set piece analysis-Both on Columbus Crew & the opposition team.
  • Assist the Technical Staff in scouting needs of opponents.
  • Organize and help facilitate individual training and game clips for all players.
  • Produce video & data assessments when required for all levels of the club.
  • Provide a meaningful contribution to the analysis department consistently.
  • Organize & maintain various video & statistical databases and processes that can be used across the club.
  • Other duties as directed by the Head of Video & Data Analyst, coaching staff and Soccer Leadership.
 
Technical Competencies
  • Strong tactical understanding of soccer and ability to translate video and data into meaningful insights while considering context.
  •  Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and commitment to accuracy in coding, tagging, and presentation.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in a high-performance environment.
  • Collaborative and proactive, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Effective communicator, capable of clearly presenting information to coaches, players and staff across the club. Being bilingual would be a bonus.
  • Technically adept, enthusiastic about soccer, and eager to adopt new tools and processes.
  • Very high standards of professionalism.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Coaching, Data Analytics, or a related field would be helpful but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a video/data analyst role at a professional level in soccer.
  • Experience using industry-standard software such as Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Spiideo and similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in video editing, tagging, and presentation design for technical and tactical review.
  • Working knowledge of data interpretation, visualization tools and best practices.
  •  Understanding of soccer tactics, match preparation cycles, and training periodization.
  •  Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
