Description
The Columbus Crew is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our team for the 2026 season. This position offers a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of sports marketing and event production by assisting with a variety of in-stadium and community-based initiatives. The ideal candidate has a passion for sports and fan engagement and is eager to work in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in execution of matchday activations in the fan plaza and concourse, including sponsor-related promotions, interactive games, and fan engagement stations.
- Manage the setup and tear-down of all activation areas, including tents, tables, signage, and promotional materials.
- Serve as a brand ambassador by interacting with fans, sponsors, and guests to ensure a positive and engaging experience.
- Assist with the organization and logistics of pre-match and post-match events.
- Support the Match Presentation team in executing the in-game script and rundown, ensuring all promotions and entertainment elements are executed correctly.
- Assist with scheduling with performers, honorees, and in-game talent
- Facilitate logistics with on-field performers
- Manage the inventory of promotional items and game presentation props.
- Represent the organization at various off-site, field marketing events, including festivals, partner appearances, and community gatherings.
- Assist with the distribution of promotional materials, including posters and schedule cards, to local businesses and community centers.
- Contribute to marketing campaign planning and brainstorming sessions.
- Assist with general administrative tasks for the Marketing Department, including organizing assets, tracking participation, and compiling post-event reports.
Required skills, experience & abilities
- Ability to work a max of 30 hours per week (including matchdays & events) paid hourly
- Must be available or all Crew home games during the 2026 MLS season, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, or a recent graduate, with a focus on Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Creative, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
