The Chicago Fire Football Club (Chicago Fire FC) is an American professional soccer club that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top U.S. domestic league. Founded on October 8, 1997, on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire, the Club began play in 1998 as one of the League’s first expansion franchises. The Fire have won six major domestic titles, including the 1998 MLS Cup; the 1998, 2000, 2003, and 2006 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups; as well as the 2003 MLS Supporters’ Shield.

Position Overview:
The Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Video specialist with a background in visual storytelling and creative media. The individual in this role will assist with the development and production of video content for the Fire’s digital and social platforms, with an emphasis on creating for Social Media, YouTube, Apple TV, Corporate Partnerships, and other internal and external partners. A successful candidate will have experience across a variety of areas including pre-production, communication, leading, shooting, sound design, editing and post-production. The focus will be on creating high-volume and eye-catching video content for all digital platforms, while assisting team members with the conceptual planning, ideation, and production of material requested by departments across the entire organization.

The candidate will report to the Director of Video and work within the larger Creative, Marketing, and Communications group to engage both existing and prospective fans with the goal of driving fandom and delivering on business objectives.
 
Given the nature of the role, individuals with a strong portfolio or demo reel upon submission will be prioritized. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with every facet of video and creative services including conceptualization, shooting, and editing video content for the Fire’s digital platforms, strategic partners, and broadcast channels
  • Assist with the end-to-end production of large projects including creative pitches, capturing and editing content, and communication with the required departments
  • Collaborate with the video, design, social, and match presentation team on ensuring all content is produced efficiently and effectively, while implementing the organization’s brand design look and feel to establish consistency across all platforms
  • Produce high-quality and engaging visual content for the Chicago Fire’s social media channels primarily through video storytelling
  • Create unique content for social platforms, marketing initiatives and assist with in-stadium/match presentation video content when requested
  • Assist with shooting and editing press conferences, player interviews, highlight reels, and community relations’ events
  • Provide and execute on new creative ideas to promote theme nights, key match-ups, ticket offers and promotions, etc.
  • Produce high-quality video content that can be used for paid media to assist with ticket sales, promotions, and other business objectives
  • Contribute to the marketing team’s overall strategy and success in both team and cross-department meetings
  • Collaborate with members of the creative team and various departments around the club to produce unique and personalized content for current and prospective clients that aligns with the organizational objectives and overall content strategy of the club
  • Attend training sessions, home matches, and travel with the team for select away matches to capture match action, behind-the-scenes footage, and player interviews for publishing across all club digital channels
  • Assist with filming, editing, and coloring of player interviews, highlight reels, press conferences, community relations’ events, and mandatory Apple TV content
  • Produce content that grows our social audiences, especially on our key channels – Instagram, X, and YouTube
  • Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio, and lighting for location and studio productions
  • Log, archive, and organize video footage to optimize file management and facilitate future accessibility
  • Storytell around all aspects of the club, from the players to the fans to the complete matchday experience at Soldier Field
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in content creation, digital & social media, and sports.
  • Seek out new tools and techniques to enhance content creation, footage organization, and file management
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum two years of professional video production experience in sports or events industry, agency, or related in-house environment.
  • Experience pitching a creative vision through content – ability to communicate this effectively with other partners to enhance support and buy-in
  • Well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to interact and brainstorm concepts within a team setting
  • Exceptional leadership skills and relationship builder, across both the business & sporting sides of the organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, professional in presentation and able to work with multiple stakeholders and personalities
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, performance-driven work environment.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Applicants must provide a strong portfolio or demo reel upon submission
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere with proficiency in After Effects preferred
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within a creative or production environment
  • Strong knowledge with using professional cinema cameras, including Sony products
  • Strong knowledge with lighting set-up and interview composition
  • Experience with project management tools like Asana
 
Compensation:
  • This role offers a salary range of $57,500-$60,000 Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience. This role is classified as Full-time, exempt
  • This role is bonus eligible based on club-wide goals
