The Chicago Fire Football Club (Chicago Fire FC) is an American professional soccer club that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top U.S. domestic league. Founded on October 8, 1997, on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire, the Club began play in 1998 as one of the League’s first expansion franchises. Position Overview:
The Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a Sr. Director of Business Strategy & Analytics to lead the Club’s data and analytics function, transforming data into a competitive advantage that drives smarter decision-making, revenue growth, and fan engagement. This role will set the vision for how data is collected, managed, and activated across the organization and will play a key role in the Club’s long-term growth strategy.

Reporting into senior leadership, the Sr. Director will lead a small, high-impact team and partner closely with leaders across Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Soccer Business, and Marketing. The role blends strategy and execution—owning the data roadmap and analytics infrastructure while remaining hands-on in analysis, modeling, and visualization to deliver actionable insights that enable organization-wide impact.

The ideal candidate blends strong technical and analytical capability with commercial instincts and executive-level stakeholder management. They are equally comfortable working directly in data as they are influencing leaders, prioritizing work, and operating in fast-moving, occasionally ambiguous environments.

At its core, this role focuses on three key business challenges:
  • Building our data foundation (own our data strategy and roadmap, overseeing data quality, governance, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Turning data into growth (partner with our revenue teamsto drive revenue optimization opportunities, lead analytics efforts around lead generation, scoring, segmentation etc, build models & insights around pricing, demand forecasting, retention etc.)
  • Enabling org-wide action through insights & visualization (build and oversee org-wide dashboarding, translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights, shift the org from reporting into insight-driven decision making.)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Club’s Business Strategy & Analytics function, owning the vision, roadmap, and day-to-day execution of analytics, insights, BI, and CRM-related work
  • Develop and maintain the organization’s data strategy and infrastructure, ensuring high-quality, well-governed data across ticketing, marketing, partnerships, soccer business, and other core business systems
  • Establish and manage a reliable single source of truth for business data, including oversight of data integrations, warehousing, governance, and vendor relationships
  • Partner closely with Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Soccer Business & Marketing teams to drive revenue growth through data-informed strategies, including pricing analysis, demand forecasting, segmentation, and performance optimization
  • Own and evolve the Club’s CRM and fan data capabilities, enabling more effective targeting, personalization, and measurements across marketing, ticket sales, and partnerships
  • Design, build, and oversee dashboards, reporting, and KPI frameworks for departments across the organization, ensuring data is actionable and aligned with business objective
  • Beyond just reporting, ensure the team is translating complex analysis into clear, compelling insights and recommendations for senior leadership, helping drive faster and better decision-making
  • Lead advanced analyses and modeling related to fan behavior, retention, customer lifetime value, campaign performance, and revenue forecasting
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing analytics team, balancing people leadership with hands-on analytical execution
  • Promote data literacy and adoption across the organization, helping teams understand and trust insights in their day-to-day decision-making
  • Completion of other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business strategy, analytics, data, or a related discipline, with a demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Proven experience developing and managing data strategy for an organization and using that data to drive measurable growth for the organization
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehouse and analytics stacks, ideally including Snowflake or comparable platforms
  • Strong analytical skill set, including the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience leading complex, data-driven projects from concept through execution in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior, non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and serve as a trusted strategic partner to business leaders
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize work amid ambiguity and changing business needs
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Economics, Finance, Strategy, or a related field
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or consumer-focused industries 
  • Familiarity with data engineering and orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Docker, or similar)
  • Exposure to advanced analytics, data science, or statistical modeling tools (e.g., Python, R, Alteryx, SAS)
  • Experience building or overseeing enterprise dashboards, KPI frameworks, and self-service BI solutions
  • Experience working directly with revenue-generating teams (ticketing, sales, partnerships, or marketing) to support pricing, segmentation, forecasting, and performance optimization

Compensation:
  • This role offers a salary range of $115,000-145,000 
  • Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience. This role is classified as Full-time, exempt
  • This role is bonus eligible based on club-wide goals
