The Chicago Fire Football Club (Chicago Fire FC) is an American professional soccer club that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top U.S. domestic league. Founded on October 8, 1997, on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire, the Club began play in 1998 as one of the League’s first expansion franchises. Job Overview:
Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a highly motivated Head of Academy Analysis to join our team. 

This pivotal role will involve leading and driving forward the video analysis provision, within the Academy and 2nd Team, in line with our coaching methodology and Club vision. You will work collaboratively with the coaches throughout the Club; coordinating roles within the team to provide functional and high-performance workflows that can support the coaching team in all aspects of analysis. The role, reporting into the Academy Director, has the following purpose:

  • Lead and coordinate video analysis support to all teams.
  • Manage the day to day running of the video analysis deliverables throughout the academy and Fire II.
  • Provide video analysis for the High Potential players, monitoring and tracking development using objective and subjective data.
  • Oversee analysis of the Club’s playing philosophy and methodology, aiding with the vision of the club.
  • Actively participate in wider management projects.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of analysts, ensuring alignment with the club’s performance objectives. Set clear targets for the analysis team and support their professional development.
  • Establish and implement the long-term strategy for analysis, ensuring that data and video insights are utilized to influence tactical and player development decisions
  • Work with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure all pre-match, post-match, training and individual development work is delivered on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with the coaching team and Head of Methodology to facilitate clarity around playing methodology and individual role requirements through the measurement of performance and feedback.
  • Stay at the forefront of technological and methodological advances in analysis, integrating new tools and techniques to continually improve analysis accuracy and impact.
  • Supervise and deliver feedback of match and training content to all players and coaching staff.ensuring most applicable method and style is used, including use of specialist software.
  • Oversee filming and coding of training and matches as required. 
  • File Management: Maintain a comprehensive library of video clips that showcase club tactics and player development best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Sports Science, Medical, and Recruitment departments to provide insights that support player development, injury prevention, and recruitment strategies.
  • Other Duties: Provide additional support to the coaching staff as needed, and travel as required.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in elite-level analysis, ideally within a professional football environment.
  • Master’s Degree in Sports Science, Sports Analytics, or a related field, with relevant certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analysis, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within professional sport.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a team, setting objectives, and driving high standards of analysis.
  • Strong understanding of football tactics, formations, and strategies, with the ability to translate data into actionable tactical recommendations.
  • Proficiency in analysis tools and advanced data analysis techniques.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Flency in multiple languages is advantageous due to the club’s international scope.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or advanced data visualization techniques.
  • USSF B Coaching License.
 
Compensation:
  • This role offers a salary range of $75,000-$85,000 Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience.
  • This role is classified as Full-time, exempt
