The Chicago Fire Football Club (Chicago Fire FC) is an American professional soccer club that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top U.S. domestic league. Founded on October 8, 1997, on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire, the Club began play in 1998 as one of the League’s first expansion franchises. The Fire have won six major domestic titles, including the 1998 MLS Cup; the 1998, 2000, 2003, and 2006 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups; as well as the 2003 MLS Supporters’ Shield.
 
The Club recently announced plans to build a $750M+ privately financed downtown stadium in Chicago in 2028. Position Overview: 
Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a dedicated Event Intern to join our team! You will be responsible for supporting the Event’s Department With all club wise events including gamedays, premium dinners, partnership activations and more. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The Event Intern will report to the Director of Events.

This internship will run from February through November in the Chicagoland area and requires reliable transportation, as work will take place at multiple locations.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with matchday and non-matchday events, including but not limited to corporate partnership meetings, ticketing meetings, sponsor activations, and fan engagement activities
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue setup, catering, audio-visual requirements, and other essential elements
  • Revamp and maintain department trackers including but not limited to financial, budget, and inventory trackers 
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Events, Events Specialist, including calendar management, scheduling, and meeting documentation
  •  Develop, organize, and distribute event timelines, run-of-show documents, recaps, and other key event communications 
  •  Collaborate closely with internal teams to troubleshoot challenges and implement real-time solutions in a fast-paced environment 
  • Liaison with the Operations teams to ensure smooth event operations
  • Completion of other duties as assigned
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong proven experience in event planning or execution
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must display a strong work ethic and desire to build a career in professional sports
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Spanish language fluency
  • Currently pursuing or graduated with a bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field
 
Compensation:
  • This role offers an hourly rate of $19 per hour
  • This role is Part-Time, Non-Exempt
