The Chicago Fire Football Club (Chicago Fire FC) is an American professional soccer club that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top U.S. domestic league. Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Head of Medical, and Rehabilitation Coordinator, Academy Rehabilitation Coordinator will coordinate rehabilitation, evaluations, plan of care, progress notes, and discharge notes on all Players including, but not limited to: 1st team, 2nd team, and academy. Academy Rehabilitation Coordinator assists Head of Medical in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the Club. In this capacity, Academy Rehabilitation Coordinator provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for Players’ medical problems.
 
Job Duties:
Working in collaboration with the Medical and Performance Staff and under the supervision of the CMO:
  • Manages the healthcare of Players including, but not limited to: first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals
  • Maintain a complete and up to date roster of Player health and participation records in the League-provided electronic medical record (EMR) systtem
  • Order and maintain inventory supplies and clinical equipment
  • Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized
  • Help the Club Medical Staff regarding Player’s health and safety
  • Comply with all MLS medical policies and protocols
  • Comply with OSHA standards with regards to blood borne pathogens
  • Attend all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League
  • Complete other duties as assigned 
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or/and Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with elite athletes, preferably including soccer players. Experience with elite athletes includes direct involvement in collegiate, professional, Olympic, tactical (e.g., Special Forces, Service Academies), performance (e.g., Cirque du Soleil, Performing Arts) or equivalent professions.
  • Active and valid CPR Certification for Health Care Provider
  • NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer or/and passed National Physical Therapy Exam
  • In good standing with NATABOC
  • Maintained personal professional liability insurance 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related healthcare field from a CAATE recognized school and valid state license
  • Preferred certification: APTA OCS, SCS, CSCS, PES, or LMT

Compensation:
  • This role offers a salary range of $70,000-$80,000 Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience
