Equipment Manager
Location: Boston, MA
Reports to: Director of Soccer Operations
The Role
The Equipment Manager oversees all aspects of team equipment operations to ensure players and staff have the tools, gear, and resources necessary for optimal performance. This role is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all team apparel, uniforms, training gear, and related equipment for all team activities. The Equipment Manager plays a critical role in supporting team logistics and upholding professional standards that align with NWSL regulations and the club’s values.
Key Responsibilities
Team Equipment Operations
- Manage daily setup and breakdown for all training sessions, including gear, field equipment, and other technical equipment.
- Prepare locker rooms and technical areas for home and away matches according to league and club standards.
- Pack, transport, and secure all team gear and supplies for travel.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all team-issued apparel, footwear, and equipment.
- Oversee laundry operations to ensure timely cleaning, drying, and distribution of gear.
- Coordinate with team and league vendors on kit orders, printing, and compliance with NWSL uniform regulations.
Inventory & Logistics
- Track incoming and outgoing equipment, maintaining organized storage and records.
- Manage kit assignments and player personalization.
- Monitor and order replacement items as needed within budget and procurement guidelines.
- Ensure all training, matchday, and travel gear meets league and club requirements.
- Support staff logistics.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with coaching, performance, medical, and operations staff to anticipate daily and game-specific needs.
- Support player onboarding with kit distribution and fittings.
- Coordinate with visiting teams and referees for matchday operational requirements.
- Always represent the club with professionalism and discretion.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in equipment or operations management within a professional, collegiate, or elite sports environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment and work long, irregular hours including weekends, evenings, and travel.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of professional sports operations standards and confidentiality expectations.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in women’s professional soccer or a similar high-performance team setting.
- Familiarity with NWSL rules, matchday operations, and league equipment standards.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Basic knowledge of embroidery, printing, or heat pressing preferred.
