Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC officially began competing in MLS in April 2021 and will play its fifth season in 2025.  Austin FC plays its home matches at Q2 Stadium, a 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art stadium which earned certification as a zero-waste venue.  Austin FC sold out all 70 MLS home matches it played at Q2 Stadium during its first fourth season in the league, including two MLS Cup Playoff matches in 2022 as the team reached the Western Conference Final. 

Austin FC also operates Austin FC, II, a professional-level development team competing in MLS NEXT Pro which won the league title during its inaugural season in 2023.  In addition, Austin FC operates Austin FC Academy which is the fully funded developmental academy representing the highest level of competition for elite youth soccer players in Central Texas, while serving as the exclusive developmental pathway to MLS for the region’s most talented your players. Combined, Austin FC II and Austin FC Academy teams complete the pro player pathway between elite youth soccer (MLS NEXT) all the way to MLS, and allow for players to develop, improve, and move up to Austin FC or Austin FC II.

 Austin FC II is actively seeking a Goalkeeper Coach who will help lead the Team. This position will work closely with Austin FC II’s Head Coach and Assistant Coach and support them in the development of a game model including team strategy, style of play and roster selection that will align with Austin FC’s first team. This position will also work in tandem with the First Team and Academy Goalkeeper Coaches. 

The position is based in Austin, TX and will work in-person out of the St. David’s Performance Center.

You Will:
·        Assist Head Coach to develop the overall team strategy, style of play and roster selection; and
·        Assist Head Coach in arranging for, conducting and supervising Austin FC II’s practices and training sessions; and
·        Assist Head Coach in coaching the Team in all exhibition, regular season, playoff, tournament, and other games; and
·        Assist Head Coach and the scouting department to review and provide feedback on international, domestic and college soccer players; and
·        Train the Goalkeepers of the Team according to the Team’s philosophy; and
·        Enforce Club Rules and League Rules applicable to the Team’s players and/or coaching staff; and
·        Participate in promotional, sponsorship, and public relations activities requested of him by Club upon reasonable prior notice, including, but not limited to, ticket, game, Team and Stadium promotions, clinics, speeches, interviews, photo sessions, public appearances, sponsor activities, and participating in television, radio, and internet programs featuring the Team; and
·        Oher duties and services as may reasonably be assigned by Club to Employee that are consistent with employment a Goalkeeper Coach of a team in the League.

You Have:
·        Minimum of 3 years professional or college experience, preferably with experience in MLS or other elite level soccer organizations
·        USSF Pro A Coaching license or UEFA Pro license
·        Preferred experience working with youth or in youth development
·        Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
·        Strong leadership and organizational skills
·        Ability to keep a strong and positive attitude that reflects the spirit of the club
·        English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus
·        Commitment to diversity and inclusion both internally and externally
·        Ability to make decisions under pressure
·        Ability to work in various degrees of outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme heat or rain
