Co-founded by four U.S. Women’s National Team legends—Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne—in partnership with global investment firm Sixth Street, Bay FC is changing the face of women’s soccer as we know it. Position Summary  
Bay FC is seeking a Controller to join our team.  We are looking for a Controller to lead the accounting and finance functions for Bay FC. The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team and will have responsibility for the day-to-day accounting operations, monthly reporting, technical accounting research, financial planning and budget forecasting, contract review, payroll, policy documentation, the insurance program, and all relevant support for audits and tax compliance. This is a highly visible role with opportunities to grow and make an immediate impact. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. 

Responsibilities 
● Lead, support, and develop the accounting & finance functions while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of the business 
● Ownership of the general ledger, revenue, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, event settlement, accounts payable, short-term cash-flow projections, the control environment and consolidation 
● Serve as an authorized banking representative to review payment requests and authorize bank payment transactions; act as system administrator for banking platform 
● Help guide, establish, and monitor metrics related to accounting and finance operations to drive operational efficiency 
● Implement best practices and ensure compliance with policies and procedures 
● Monitor, review, and present all compliance requirements with lending institutions 
● Manage external relationships with auditors, tax service providers, insurance brokers, banks, the league office and others as assigned 
● Monitoring and ensure compliance that all statutory returns and filings are completed and filed on a timely basis; own and direct multiple audits as required 
● Be a business partner to provide frontline contract review and documentation as needed 
● Participate and/or lead projects as assigned 

Qualifications 
● Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience; active CPA highly preferred 
● Superior knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, the control environment, budget reporting, and operations of the accounting and finance functions   
● Experience electing and managing third party vendors for projects and ongoing work 
● Firm understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting as it relates to a partnership structure 
● Strong interpersonal, leadership, written and verbal communications skills 
● Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization; comfortable interacting with senior management 
● Proactive and confident in identifying problems and solutions; tenacity and attention to detail and process 
● Ability to efficiently lead and prioritize multiple projects at once.
 
Compensation: 
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $175,000-$195,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
