Job Summary:
The position will be responsible for increasing awareness, participation, and enthusiasm for rodeo by creating impactful experiences, expanding community presence, and cultivating the next generation of fans. This role plays a vital part in shaping the future of the sport by connecting people to the rodeo lifestyle—from local communities to national audiences.
Essential Duties:
• Works with Director of Licensing and Brand Marketing to ensure the complete and accurate execution and fulfillment of all sponsorship contracts as they pertain to Athletes and Athlete endorsements.
• Works with Director of Licensing and Brand Marketing on developing cross promotional opportunities with other sports entities, influencers, celebrities, and special events for Athletes. Work with sponsors on accessing these opportunities through their sponsorships outside of rodeo.
• Develops marketing plans for each opportunity ensuring internal input and communication.
• Works with media team on special interest stories
• Works with Brand and Athlete Marketing Coordinator as well as the media team on ensuring social media support for all cross promotional activations.
• Works with Director of Licensing and Brand Marketing and CMO on the development of a marketing strategy for grass roots initiatives including the PRCA Youth Camps, FFA and other potential partnerships targeting youth.
• Working with Youth Camps, assists in building outreach programs targeting youth, families, schools, and community organizations to introduce and grow interest in rodeo.
• Oversee NFR and Rodeo watch parties encouraging committees to expand community outreach initiatives.
• Develops scalable outreach initiatives that support long-term fan and community loyalty.
• Develops a plan for an Official PRCA Fan Experience that will go on the road to key rodeos, events, and festivals. Work with the sales team to design a pitch deck for new and current partners.
• Designs and implements fan engagement strategies to enhance the overall experience at events and across digital platforms.
• Develops opportunities for data collection at special events and rodeos.
• Utilizes fan engagement activities to activate fan communities integrating social media, digital content, live events, and promotion.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and minimum 2 years’ related experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Previous experience in sponsorship services preferred.
Knowledge of, or experience in, professional rodeos preferred.
• High level of communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities.
• Consistently maintain technical skills and knowledge of industry.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work non-traditional days and hours.
• Ability to travel.
Work Environment:
Works in an office environment with occasional travel out of state. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, and periodically lift. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Physical Demands:
This is a sedentary role; however, movement and lifting are required. Position requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs to assist in carrying, lifting, and packing equipment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, and stand. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
