The San Diego Mojo is a major league volleyball team that plays its home games at Viejas Arena on the SDSU campus. We are in the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) along with (7) other teams across the nation, and were founded in 2023. Our owner is Gary Jacobs of San Diego.

The Corporate Partnerships Executive is a sales position designed to drive sponsorship revenue for the Mojo. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have a passion for outbound sales, with a desire to cultivate and develop relationships. 

Responsibilities include:
  •  Identify target categories, companies and marketing leads.
  •  Cold and intentional outreach to marketing leaders, corporate executives and agencies to introduce the Mojo.
  •  Professionally and enthusiastically present the Mojo narrative and quickly establish rapport and brand synergies.
  •  Brainstorm customized entitlements and packages that deliver return on the objectives identified by brands.
  •  Create pitch decks that showcase the value of the Mojo and make a compelling case for brand sponsorship.
  •  Foster closing conversations and the rationale behind entitlement rates (as needed).
  •  Manage and grow relationships that result in multi-season partnerships.
  •  Properly track all activity and communications in Hubspot and other company-provided software tools to maximize efficiency.
  •  Regularly provide accurate and understandable reports to management, with the ability to explain information at a moment’s notice.
  •  Actively participate in internal and external meetings to share ideas, data-driven insights and potential opportunities.
  •  Stay current on industry trends, and team and league news.
  •  Collaborate within your department and within the company as a whole.
  •  Be a thought-leader, pursue challenges and have a growth mindset.
  •  Constantly seek personal and professional growth opportunities.
  •  Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  •  At least one year of cold outbound sales outreach experience, ideally with a challenger brand with limited company awareness.
  •  Proficiency in using CRM software, preferably Hubspot.
  •  Ability to creatively mine leads.
  •  Be relentless! If you’re not willing to run through walls, this position is not for you.
  •  General knowledge of professional sports (volleyball preferred but not required).
  •  Excitement in the idea of building the plane while it’s in the air.
