Position Summary
 


The Manager of Volleyball Operations plays a vital role in supporting the Orlando Valkyries’ athletes and coaching staff by coordinating all team logistics and day-to-day operations. This seasonal position is responsible for managing travel, housing, meals, equipment, and gameday support to ensure the team is fully prepared both at home and on the road. The Manager works closely with the Business Operations team and coaching staff to deliver a seamless experience for players and maintain operational excellence throughout the season. 

 

Key Responsibilities
 


Team Logistics & Travel Coordination
 

  • Attend all home games, away games, and team practices. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison for team logistics during travel and daily activities. 
  • Coordinate flight bookings, check-ins, and transportation schedules for players and staff. 
  • Manage rental car logistics and communicate with transportation vendors. 

Housing & Facilities Support
 

  • Assist in securing and managing player housing, including lease coordination and vendor communication. 
  • Support players with move-in logistics, parking passes, and housing-related issues. 
  • Collaborate with Business Operations to maintain team office setup and inventory. 

Meals & Nutrition
 

  • Track and manage meal budgets in collaboration with Business Operations. 
  • Coordinate meals for away games, training camp, and post-game events. 
  • Organize snacks and hydration for locker rooms during home and away matches. 
  • Request per diem or cash tips for vendors as needed. 

Practice & Gameday Operations
 

  • Coordinate pre-game practice needs and serve & pass sessions with opposing team operations staff. 
  • Assist with practice setup, teardown, and equipment management. 
  • Support gameday logistics including locker room setup, bench area organization, and player needs. 

Team Communication & Itinerary Management
 

  • Create and distribute detailed itineraries for road trips. 
  • Ensure timely communication with league executives, transportation providers, coaching staff, and players. 
  • Maintain itinerary records and share updates via Google Sheets. 

Equipment & Inventory
 

  • Maintain inventory of team equipment and uniforms. 
  • Ensure all gear is packed and accounted for during travel. 
  • Submit equipment needs and updates to Business Operations. 

Budgeting & Expense Tracking
 

  • Adhere to budget guidelines and submit expenses for approval prior to purchases. 
  • Monitor travel and meal budgets to ensure fiscal discipline. 

Community Engagement
 

  • Collaborate with the Communications Manager to coordinate player appearances and community events. 

Compliance & Documentation
 

  • Ensure full compliance with Major League Volleyball (MLV) regulations and internal team policies. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation for travel, housing, and team logistics. 

Team Culture & Leadership
 

  • Set a positive tone with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a team-first attitude. 
  • Lead by example in work ethic and collaboration across departments. 

Additional Duties
 

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Business Operations, VP of Business Operations, Team President, and/or Team Owner(s).

Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field preferred. 
  • Experience in team operations, logistics, or athletic support. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. 
  • Passion for volleyball, team culture, and operational excellence.
