Columbus Fury - Major League Volleyball is seeking an Assistant Coach. The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all facets of the professional women's volleyball program. This role requires a highly experienced and strategic-minded individual who can contribute to maximizing elite athletic performance through advanced tactical analysis, high-level player development, and comprehensive opponent scouting.
Key responsibilities:
- Performance analysis: Utilize advanced video and statistical software (e.g., DataVolley, HUDL, Volleymetrics) to analyze match data, scout opponents, and generate reports.
- On-court coaching: Work with coaching staff to develop drills and provide individualized feedback to refine the skills of professional athletes. Help coach through practice to run drills effectively, and make sure our daily goals are being achieved.
- Game-day strategy: Assist the head coach in making in-game strategic adjustments, managing player rotations, and preparing the team for competition.
- Player mentoring: Serve as a mentor for players, focusing on mental and emotional resilience, motivation, and professional development.
- Recruitment and scouting: Identify and evaluate prospective talent at domestic and international tournaments. Provide insights to assist in the recruitment process
- Program compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all league, team, and organizational rules, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous high-level coaching or playing experience is required, with collegiate (NCAA) or professional experience highly preferred.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with modern video and statistical analysis platforms (e.g., DataVolley, Volleymetrics, HUDL) is essential.
- Soft skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively mentor elite athletes and collaborate with staff.
Schedule and compensation:
- Schedule: This is a seasonal position (November 15, 2025- May 15, 2026), with a schedule that includes extensive travel during the season, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience and based on league standards.
