About the Indy Ignite
Indy Ignite brings the heat of professional women’s volleyball to Central Indiana. As part of Major League Volleyball, the nation’s premier pro volleyball league, our mission is to pursue victory, empower women and serve our community through the competitive world of pro volleyball. Together, we are paving the way for the next generation of women’s sports and inspiring girls to pursue their passion with relentless ambition. Indy Ignite ended its inaugural season in 2025 as the runner-up in the MLV Championship. We will begin our second season in January 2026.
Position Summary
Indy Ignite is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Show Caller to oversee the execution of in-venue production during home matches. This seasonal, matchday role is responsible for aspects of the presentation throughout the venue, ensuring that scripts, sponsorship activations, videoboard content, and live show elements are executed with precision. The Show Caller will collaborate with the Sponsorship, Marketing, and Fan Experience teams, technical crew, and announcers to deliver a polished, professional, and exciting fan experience. This position is primarily matchday focused, with occasional meetings to prepare for upcoming matches.
This position will be compensated at a rate of $200/match. The position will span from January - May 2026 dependent on the Indy Ignite post season schedule.
Responsibilities/ Duties/ Functions/ Tasks
- Serve as the lead Show Caller for all Indy Ignite home matches, calling the run-of-show from the production booth.
- Execute matchday scripts with accuracy and professionalism, ensuring smooth transitions and timing.
- Use expertise to guide what is shown on the videoboard, coordinating with technical operators to maximize fan engagement.
- Manage and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship activations, guaranteeing that all contracted obligations are delivered in-match.
- Track, organize, and verify that all video and graphic files used in production are the correct and most up-to-date versions.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with announcers, technical staff, and in-game entertainment teams throughout the match.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Fan Experience departments to refine scripts and improve in-game presentation.
- Attend occasional production meetings to discuss and prepare for upcoming matches.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Multiple years of experience show calling live events, preferably in sports.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball match flow, rules, and timing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct multiple teams in real-time.
- Ability to stay calm and decisive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Availability for all or most of Indy Ignite’s home matches, with occasional pre-match meetings.
- Availability for pre-match meeting during the week during home match weeks, this can be scheduled remotely and be flexible based on your availability.
- Ability to quickly adapt to last-minute changes in scripts or activations.
- This is a seasonal, match day-based role with occasional required meetings outside of match days.
- May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season.
