About the Indy Ignite
Indy Ignite brings the heat of professional women’s volleyball to Central Indiana. As part of Major League Volleyball, the nation’s premier pro volleyball league, our mission is to pursue victory, empower women and serve our community through the competitive world of pro volleyball. Together, we are paving the way for the next generation of women’s sports and inspiring girls to pursue their passion with relentless ambition. Indy Ignite ended its inaugural season in 2025 as the runner-up in the MLV Championship. We will begin our second season in January 2026.
Position Summary
Indy Ignite is seeking an energetic and motivated Fan Experience Intern to support the Marketing and Fan Experience departments from December through May. This internship offers hands-on experience in professional sports game operations, promotions, and fan engagement. The Fan Experience Intern will play a vital role in planning and executing match day activations, coordinating fan programs, and creating memorable experiences for Indy Ignite fans. This position requires in-office hours with additional remote work and event responsibilities as assigned.
This position will be compensated at a rate of $10/hour and can range from 20 - 40 hours per week regularly depending on qualified applicants desire and availability. The internship will span from December 2025 - May 2026 dependent on the Indy Ignite post season schedule.
Responsibilities Include
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of the Promo Team on match days and at events.
- Support the Firestarters dance team with scheduling, logistics, and match day needs.
- Select and schedule National Anthem performers for each home match.
- Coordinate and support the Pit fan section, ensuring an energetic and organized environment.
- Help plan, organize, and execute elements of Fan Fests and other pre-match events.
- Manage and operate the Fan Zone on the concourse before matches, including planning, setup, activation, and tear down.
- Assist in the creation and execution of on-court promotions and activations, ensuring smooth delivery during breaks and timeouts.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Fan Experience staff to create innovative ideas for engaging fans in-stadium.
- Provide logistical and operational support for community and regional events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sport Management, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field.
- Previous experience in game operations, fan engagement, or sports promotions preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence engaging with fans, staff, and performers.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for Indy Ignite home matches and occasional community events.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the arena, and assist with event setup and tear down.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- May require some out-of-town travel with necessary travel expenses covered by the Indy Ignite.
