Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Volleyball Operations to oversee all aspects of our competitive volleyball program for Dallas's newest professional franchise. This role serves as the critical bridge between coaching staff and front office operations, ensuring our team has the resources, support systems, and operational excellence needed to compete at the highest level of professional volleyball. You will be responsible for player personnel support, training operations, competitive logistics, and creating a championship-level environment for our athletes and coaching staff.

Key Responsibilities
Player Personnel 
  • Manage player housing, transportation, and travel assistance for domestic and international athletes
  • Oversee player onboarding process including orientation, team integration, and support services
  • Maintain comprehensive player databases including statistics, medical records, and performance metrics
  • Coordinate with Major League Volleyball on roster rules, player eligibility, and league compliance

Training Operations & Facility Management
  • Oversee all training facility operations including scheduling, equipment, and maintenance
  • Manage practice logistics and coordinate with coaching staff on training requirements
  • Ensure training facilities meet professional standards and provide optimal development environment
  • Coordinate strength and conditioning programs with performance staff and medical team
  • Manage equipment inventory, ordering, and maintenance for training and competition
  • Establish relationships with local training facilities and backup venue options

Competition & Travel Logistics
  • Plan and execute all team travel including transportation, accommodations, and meal arrangements
  • Coordinate match day operations including warm-up schedules, equipment setup, and logistics
  • Manage visiting team requirements and coordinate with league operations on match scheduling
  • Oversee pre-match and post-match protocols including media availability and team meetings
  • Ensure compliance with league rules regarding competition format, match protocols, and player eligibility
  • Coordinate with venue operations on court setup, technical requirements, and game presentation needs

Performance Support & Sports Science
  • Collaborate with medical staff on injury prevention, treatment protocols, and return-to-play decisions
  • Coordinate performance analytics including video analysis, statistical tracking, and opponent scouting
  • Manage relationships with sports medicine providers, physical therapists, and specialist consultants
  • Oversee sports science initiatives including nutrition planning, recovery protocols, and wellness programs
  • Coordinate with strength and conditioning staff on periodization and performance optimization
  • Implement technology solutions for performance tracking and player development

Team Culture & Player Development
  • Foster positive team culture and support player development both on and off the court
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities including media training and career planning
  • Manage team building activities, community engagement, and player appearance coordination
  • Support coaching staff in creating competitive environment while maintaining team chemistry
  • Coordinate with marketing team on player promotional activities and content creation
  • Establish mentorship programs and support systems for younger or international players

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in professional or elite-level volleyball/athletic operations
  • Deep knowledge of volleyball rules, competition formats, and professional league operations
  • Experience with player personnel management, roster construction, and salary cap management
  • Strong understanding of sports performance, training methodologies, and athlete development
  • Proven track record in logistics management, travel coordination, and event planning
  • Knowledge of sports medicine principles, injury management, and athlete wellness programs
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with Major League Volleyball or professional volleyball leagues
  • Playing or coaching experience at collegiate or professional level
  • Advanced degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with international player recruitment and visa/immigration processes
  • Knowledge of sports analytics, performance tracking systems, and video analysis software
  • Relationships within volleyball community including coaches, agents, and international federations
  • Experience with professional sports collective bargaining agreements and player contracts
  • Bilingual capabilities for communication with international athletes

Team Collaboration
Works closely with Head Coach on all volleyball-related decisions and strategy implementation. Collaborates with Business Operations on budgets and contracts, Marketing on player promotions, and Medical Staff on athlete health and performance. Serves as primary liaison with Major League Volleyball on volleyball operational matters.

Schedule & Travel Requirements
Position requires significant travel during competitive season for away matches and tournaments. Evening and weekend work required during season for practices, matches, and team activities. Off-season schedule more traditional with focus on planning, recruitment, and facility management.

Location
Based in Dallas, Texas with access to training facilities and team operations. Some remote work possible during off-season planning periods, but position requires significant on-site presence during training and competition periods.
