Athletic Trainer – The Dallas Pulse
Position Summary
The Dallas Pulse, a proud member of Major League Volleyball, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our performance and medical staff. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing comprehensive health care services to our athletes, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care. This role is central to supporting athlete performance, safety, and overall team success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes.
- Develop and implement individualized and team-wide injury prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, coaches, and performance staff on return-to-play protocols.
- Deliver emergency medical care during practices and matches, including activation of emergency action plans.
- Conduct pre-season screenings and ongoing health assessments through the season.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with league/team standards.
- Manage athletic training supplies, equipment, and budget.
- Educate athletes on health, nutrition, and injury prevention best practices.
- Serve as a leader in athlete well-being and supporting a high-performance culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential through the Board of Certification (BOC).
- Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in the state of Texas (or eligible for immediate licensure).
- Current CPR/AED and Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) certification (required to maintain BOC certification).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Prior experience working with collegiate, professional, or elite-level athletes
Preferred Qualifications / “Nice to Have”
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent.
- Additional certifications in manual therapy, dry needling, or similar advanced treatment methods (where permitted by state regulations).
- Concussion management certification and experience with testing protocols.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Direct Volleyball experience preferred

Team & Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Head Coach and collaborates closely with Assistant Coaches and Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Location & Expectations
Position based in Dallas, Texas with regular travel throughout the DFW metroplex for events, media appearances, and community engagement. This position will travel with team to all away matches. Evening and weekend work required during the season for games and events.
