Position Overview:
The PLL Play Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations related to youth events and activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, revenue tracking, expense management and tracking and analysis to support the strategic growth and financial health of consolidated tournament, camp/clinic, league and team activities.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this position serves as the primary financial steward for one of our organization's key grassroots departments, managing multiple revenue streams across multiple events, locations, and timeframes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in sports, events, hospitality, or multi-location operations
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks Online) and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with registration platforms or event management systems is a plus
Requirements:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to tournaments, league, teams, camps, and clinics, including revenue analysis, expense tracking, and profitability assessments
- Manage material parts of the month-end close process for youth divisions/companies
- Oversee expense processing including the coordination of payables, management of expense reports and collaboration with operations on revenue share reporting
- Analyze financial performance across different event types, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Coordinate the development of and maintain financial dashboards and regular reporting to provide leadership with proactive insights and actionable solutions
- Support budget development and forecasting processes with data-driven recommendations
- Oversee accurate tracking and reconciliation of all revenue streams, including registration fees, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and ancillary income
- Reconcile payment processing systems, registration platforms, and point-of-sale systems with general ledger accounts
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial closeout of events, including intercompany transactions and consolidating accounting
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts for the department, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls for audited financial statements
- Process and review accounts payable related to event expenses, vendor contracts, and staff costs
Compensation:
- $75,000 - 90,000
- Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and work location.
