Position Summary:
The Event Ops Project Manager is a key member of the PLL's operations team.  The role is primarily responsible for being the organizational force for the operations team and project managing key PLL events including, but not limited to: All-Star, EOY Awards, Street Lacrosse, PLL Global Games, Championship Series and other events. Additionally, the Project Manager will play a leadership role in budget tracking throughout the year and supporting the generation of and follow-through on CVB and Sports Commission business. The position will also play a key role on-site in the delivery of all PLL events, traveling and supporting on-site in delivery of up to 14 of the season's summer events. It is preferred that the role is based out of either the league's NY or LA (Torrance, CA) office, but remote can be considered for the right candidate.

Key Objectives:
  • Project Manager for all tentpole events including All-Star, End of Year Awards Ceremony, Draft, Street Lacrosse, Global Games, and Championship Series.
  • Manage Event Operations budget for the year
  • Support CVB and Sports Commission relationship tracking
  • Travel onsite and assist event operations team at both venue and hotel where needed

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the lead and organizer for PLL tentpole events including but not limited to:
    • Training Camp
    • All-Star
    • End of Year Awards
    • Championship Series
    • Global Games
    • Street Lacrosse
    • Draft
  • Budget tracking during the season, and post-season reconciliation for the entire event ops team. Partner with Finance to build systems and processes to facilitate
  • Assist in tracking and fulfillment of CVB and Sports Commission contracts
  • Support all aspects of the season event delivery including but not limited to travel planning, venue management, etc
  • This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions, it does not restrict over tasks that may be assigned.  

Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3 years experience in event production management experience required, preferably in the sports and entertainment industries
  • Experience both in the office and on event sites
  • Project Management, organization, and logistics skillset to support event delivery
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. Comfortable leading strategic discussions with groups of executives to gain consensus on strategic initiatives and tactics. Able to think “outside the box.”
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator

  • Strong budgeting and financial management abilities, Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must
  • Project management training preferred
  • Contract negotiations experience preferred
  • Experience with hotel group blocks and catering is a plus
  • Required travel to all of the events on the event calendar
  • Travel includes shared hotel rooms (Special accommodations made for medical consideration)
  • Regular out-of-hours work during events including nights and weekends

Compensation:
  • $70,000 – $80,000 Base Salary
  • Based on the candidate’s experience and seniority
  • Working out of our New York, NY or Torrance, CA Office
  • In-office 3 days a week / Remote with Travel
  • The total compensation package includes Commission and Bonus, Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) plan, Equity Sharing, Unlimited PTO, and Paid Parental Leave
