About Positive Coaching Alliance
Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) ( is a national nonprofit organization
founded at the Stanford University Department of Athletics in 1998. PCA provides training to
coaches, parents, youth athletes, and youth sports organization leaders on how to use the youth
sports experience to teach young athletes positive character traits and "life lessons” and to
develop not only Better Athletes but more importantly Better People! Through partnerships with
more than 3,000 schools and youth sports organizations (YSOs), PCA has conducted 18,000+
workshops for leaders, coaches, parents and athletes on using sports to teach life lessons. PCA is
headquartered in Mountain View (CA), with Chapters in 18 cities, states and regions.

About the PCA Regional Executive Director for Development
Positive Coaching Alliance is seeking a leader and successful fundraiser to fill the position of
Regional Executive Director for Development in the state of Texas working with 3 PCA Chapters in
the state: PCA-Houston, PCA-North Texas and PCA-Central Texas. The Regional Executive
Director for Development will report to the Vice President for Field Operations who is located in

Duties & Responsibilities
The Regional Executive Director for Development is responsible for fundraising in the state of
Texas. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Annual Fundraising
     — In conjunction with Board and National PCA staff, develop and implement a successful
fundraising plan to raise the required revenue to sustain PCA-Houston, PCA-North Texas,
and oversee and contribute to successful fundraising for PCA-Central Texas
     — Manage the Executive Director for PCA-Central Texas to ensure donor pipeline
development, donor stewardship, and to meet annual budgetary fundraising goals
     — Raise funds for “scholarship” workshops for schools and youth sports organizations (YSOs)
serving underserved communities
     — Work with the corporations to support PCA-Houston, PCA-North Texas, PCA-Central Texas
     — Oversee and manage special events to raise funds and gain new donors as necessary
     — Ensure gifts are acknowledged in a timely manner and actively steward donors

Board Management and Development
     — Work with the Board Chairs and Committee/Task Force members to generate financial
support for PCA-Houston and PCA-North Texas, and oversee the work of PCA-Central
Texas Chapter Executive Director to ensure successful Board management
     — Work with the Board Chairs to schedule, organize agendas and prepare materials for Board
Meetings in Houston and North Texas
     — Keep the Board members informed on financial and programmatic conditions
Operations Leadership and Management
     — Participate in supporting an organizational culture reflecting the “PCA Way”
     — Prepare and manage annual budget for PCA-Houston and PCA-North Texas and oversee this
activity in PCA-Central Texas
     — Keep abreast of best practices in the youth sports field and the nonprofit sector
     — Work with HQ staff to manage PCA-Houston and PCA-North Texas Chapter web sites, and
publish a Chapter newsletter/blog
     — Work with HQ staff to execute PCA’s Double-Goal Coach® and Triple-Impact Competitor
awards programs

Add value to the PCA Movement nationwide
     — Manage local operations in accordance with PCA National procedures
     — Provide input to improving PCA general operating practices
     — Contribute to PCA as a learning organization

Qualifications & Characteristics of Ideal Candidates
     — Passion for the PCA cause
     — Proven success in nonprofit fundraising
     — 5+ years of fundraising experience
     — Success working with and managing a nonprofit fundraising Board is highly desired
     — Self-starter with entrepreneurial mind-set and teachable spirit
     — Team player who works cooperatively with all staff
     — Professional network in state of Texas
     — Able to work on weeknights and weekends on occasion
     — Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred

Base salary starting at $100K. The compensation plan consisting of salary plus annual performance bonus is commensurate with experience.
