The Albany FireWolves are currently seeking motivated individuals for our 2025-26 Albany FireWolves Training Academy Internship Program. The ideal candidate for this internship is organized, creative, dynamic, and a self-starter. A qualified candidate should be able to work independently and within a team, handle multiple projects at once, and achieve objectives set forth by their supervisor and themselves. Candidates selected for a role within the organization will be given the opportunity to have a hand in multiple aspects of executing an Albany FireWolves Training Academy (AFWTA) event. This position is set to begin in late August 2025. 

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Support the growth and visibility of AFWTA programs—including Fall, Winter, and Pro Box Skills Camps—through outreach and promotion 
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring all AFWTA facilities are organized, safe, and ready for participants 
  • Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment (balls, goals, cones, pinnies, etc.) 
  • Communicate with participants and parents to provide timely information and answer questions about camps and programming 
  • Assist with outreach to local and regional club teams to drive registration for tournaments 
  • Collect and organize waivers and registration materials from all participating teams 
  • Help build and manage detailed tournament schedules that support competitive balance and operational efficiency 
  • Support the coordination of referee assignments to ensure coverage and timely game flow 
  • Update real-time game results in the Tourney Machine app during tournament weekends 
  • Collaborate with the ticketing team to distribute Albany FireWolves game tickets at camps and tournaments as part of program participation 

Qualifications: 
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Event Management, or a related field 
  • Must be available to attend all AFWTA events, including tournaments and camps 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong organizational and administrative skills 
  • Familiarity with SportsEngine and Tourney Machine is a plus 
  • Solid understanding of the game of lacrosse, including rules, gameplay, and event structure 
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team 
  • Passion for sports and a strong interest in youth development and event operations 
  • This is an unpaid internship intended for students seeking academic credit and/or hands-on experience to enhance their resume
