MLV NorCal is part of Major League Volleyball (MLV), a unified professional women’s volleyball league launching in 2027 in the Bay Area and Sacramento. Position Overview
The Graphic & Motion Designer will help bring a new professional women’s volleyball brand to life across social, digital, and live experiences. This role focuses on creating engaging visual and motion content that drives fan engagement and defines the team’s identity. Ideal candidates are hands-on creatives who thrive in fast-paced environments and are excited to build a brand from the ground up.

You will play a key role in building a new sports brand, driving fan engagement through visual storytelling, and helping establish a distinctive and recognizable look and feel in market.


What You’ll Do
  • Design and produce high-impact creative for social media, including static graphics
  • Develop templated and real-time content for game days, including lineups, scores, highlights, and reactive moments 
  • Bring campaigns to life visually across platforms, from brand launches to ticket sales pushes to community initiatives 
  • Create motion assets (animations, transitions, typography, etc.) that elevate storytelling and differentiate the brand 
  • Collaborate closely with the Social & Content Manager to concept, execute, and optimize content 

  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, and community teams to support broader business goals 

  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the team’s visual identity and brand guidelines and own creative both internally and externally

  • Own the photo and content libraries for easy access and archiving

  • Ensure consistency, quality, and innovation across all creative outputs 

  • Stay on top of design, motion, and social trends to keep content fresh and culturally relevant

  • Creative storyteller with strong design and motion capabilities

  •  Detail-oriented with a focus on brand consistency across platforms

Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in graphic and motion design (sports/entertainment preferred) 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital and social content 
  •  Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere) 
  • Understanding of social media and content performance 
  • Ability to work quickly in fast-paced, live environments 
  • Strong attention to detail and storytelling skills 
  • Collaborative with strong communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks event facilities during work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
  • May be required to travel to other team / venue locations  
  • May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Northern California or in- or out-of-state locations
