Orlando Valkyries - Major League Volleyball

Manager, Volleyball Operations

Orlando Valkyries - Major League Volleyball - Entry Level
Orlando · FL
Team Administration/Operations · Equipment Manager · Operations
Position Summary

The Manager of Volleyball Operations is the connector between the Orlando Valkyries’ players, coaching staff, and front office — responsible for making sure the team has everything it needs to compete, from the moment training camp opens through the final match of the season. This seasonal role owns the full logistics operation behind the team: travel, housing, meals, equipment, and match day support, both at home and on the road.

Working closely with the Director of Operations, coaching staff, and league counterparts, the Manager of Volleyball Operations ensures every detail of team logistics is handled with precision so that players and coaches can focus entirely on competing. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who thrives behind the scenes, communicates clearly under pressure, and takes real pride in making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

•      Collaborate with the Business Operations team to maintain team office setup and equipment inventory.

Meals & Nutrition
•      Coordinate meals for away trips, training camp, and post-game events, working within approved budget guidelines.
•      Organize snacks and hydration for locker rooms during home and away matches.
•      Track and manage meal budgets in collaboration with the Director of Operations, and request per diem or vendor payments as needed.

Practice & Match Day Operations
•      Coordinate pre-match practice needs and serve-and-pass sessions with opposing team operations staff.
•      Assist with practice setup, teardown, and equipment management for all team sessions.
•      Support match day logistics including locker room setup, bench area organization, and any player needs that arise before or during competition.
•      Coordinate facility and meeting room setup for all practices, home and away.

Equipment, Gear & Roster Support
•      Maintain inventory of team equipment and uniforms, ensuring all gear is packed and accounted for during every trip.
•      Coordinate player sizing, gear adjustments, and distribution with equipment vendors and the front office.
•      Support onboarding needs as players are added to the roster, including physicals, travel, housing, and gear coordination.
•      Coordinate player exit logistics — physicals, final travel, and move-out needs — as players are removed from the roster.

Budgeting & Compliance
•      Adhere to established budget guidelines and submit expenses for approval prior to purchases.
•      Monitor travel and meal budgets throughout the season to ensure fiscal discipline.
•      Gather and submit all travel-related receipts to the Director of Operations for reimbursement processing.
•      Ensure full compliance with Major League Volleyball (MLV) regulations and internal team policies at all times.

•      Lead by example in work ethic and cross-departmental collaboration.
•      Communicate clearly and calmly under pressure, particularly during travel or match day logistics.
•      Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, VP of Business Operations & Partnerships, Team President, and/or Team Owner(s).

Qualifications
•      Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
•      Prior experience in team operations, athletic logistics, or travel coordination; professional or collegiate sports experience strongly preferred.
•      Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.
•      Clear, proactive communicator who can coordinate effectively across players, coaches, vendors, and league counterparts.
•      Comfortable managing logistics in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
