The Social Media Coordinator is part of our vision to pioneer the future of women’s sports in Indianapolis through the authentic and creative development of the Ignite brand in Fishers and the surrounding communities. 

They will first and foremost be a champion of the Indy Ignite brand. Ensuring that all social media channels reflect the vision of the Indy Ignite organization, elevating our fans, athletes, and women’s sports as a whole as we embark on our groundbreaking second season. They will be excited about creatively developing the Indy Ignite brand!

The Social Media Coordinator drives day-to-day content creation across Indy Ignite social media channels, with a focus on player-driven storytelling, on-court coverage, and sponsorship deliverables. This role collaborates across Marketing, Communications, Sponsorship, and Fan Engagement to plan, produce, and distribute high-impact content that grows our audience and strengthens the Indy Ignite brand.

A successful candidate have a passion for creativity, discovery, and the growth of women's sports. They will be excited to continue to develop Indy Ignite story telling capabilities through social media, have a team-first attitude, and be adaptable--consistently looking to improve in all aspects of their role.

Preferred qualifications
  • 1–3 years’ experience in social media or content production preferably for a sports team or sports brand.
  • 1–3 years creating platform-native content (short-form video, reels, stories, X/TikTok/IG posts).
  • Basic proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; proficient in CapCut and video editing software.
  • Experience shooting and editing high quality video in live sports environments, volleyball experience strongly preferred.Working knowledge of volleyball rules, scoring, and common terminology.
  • Experience producing interview-style content (shooting, lighting basics, audio, editing).Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems; experience with Socialie a plus.

Key responsibilities
  • Capture, edit, and publish match-day content in real time in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Partner with Sponsorship to shoot and edit sponsor-branded videos and deliverables.
  • Coordinate content timelines and approvals with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with freelance videographers to produce longer-form features and recap pieces.
  • Support content creation for Pepper social channels; work closely with the Fan Engagement Coordinator to maintain on-brand voice, creative quality, and KPI performance.
  • Attend all team events and a minimum of one practice per week to capture influencer-style player content.
  • Travel with the team during the season to:
    • Manage away-match content and communications, including collecting coach/player quotes and coordinating with opposing team photographers and comms staff.
    • Capture travel and behind-the-scenes content; shoot and edit highlights for live posting during away matches.
  • Build positive relationships with players and coaches to support player-led storytelling aligned with the Indy Ignite brand.
  • Use existing templates to create social-ready graphics.
  • Organize, tag, and distribute photo/video assets using league-provided DAM (Socialie) and internal Indy Ignite drives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Success metrics
  • On-time delivery of content against the content calendar and approval workflows.
  • Growth in engagement rate, reach, and follower metrics across priority platforms.
  • Timely fulfillment of sponsorship content deliverables and quality standards.
  • Efficient asset management (clean metadata, organized folders, accessible files).
  • Positive feedback from players, coaches, and cross-functional partners.

Work conditions
  • Requires evening/weekend availability for matches and events.
  • In-season travel required. Frequent on-site work at practices and games.

Nice-to-haves (optional)
  • Motion graphics basics (After Effects or equivalent).
  • Experience with live social workflows (e.g., remote editors, cloud transfers, proxy workflows).
  • Knowledge of sports photography/videography best practices (frame rates, shutter angles, color profiles).
