About the Role

Indy Ignite is seeking a motivated individual to join our high-performance staff as our Primary Training Assistant. This role is essential to creating an elite daily training environment and offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a professional coaching staff and athletes in Major League Volleyball.

Our preference is to hire one individual who can contribute both on the court and through performance analysis. Candidates with experience using DataVolley and/or VolleyStation will be considered for an expanded role supporting the coaching staff with match and practice coding. Candidates without coding experience are still strongly encouraged to apply and will be considered for the training assistant position.

Responsibilities

On-Court Practice Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Primary Training Assistant during daily team practices; either participating as a player in practice or running             the drills by entering balls and calling the drill.
  • Participate fully in practices as a training/practice player.
    • Jump, attack, block, defend, and serve to help create a competitive, game-like training environment.
    • Assist coaches by hitting and serving from the box and supporting drill execution.
  • Provide realistic opponent simulation to prepare the team for upcoming matches.
  • Be available before and after practices for individual player sessions and court setup and breakdown.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and high-performance culture.

Additional Data Assistant Responsibilities
Candidates with DataVolley and/or VolleyStation experience may also:
  • Code team practices and assist in cleaning match code.
  • Live code matches to assist the coaching staff.
  • Organize performance data and video for the coaching staff.

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
  • High-level volleyball playing experience (college or equivalent preferred).
  • Ability to consistently train at a professional practice level.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Interest in coaching and athlete development.
  • Experience with DataVolley and/or VolleyStation is highly desirable but not required.
  • Experience with coding matches and practices live is highly desirable but not required.

Compensation
Two compensation structures are available depending on the candidate’s qualifications:
Option 1: Primary Training Assistant & Data Assistant
  • $20,000 seasonal stipend
  • Includes all on-court responsibilities plus VolleyStation coding responsibilities.
Option 2: Primary Training Assistant
  • $8-10,000 seasonal stipend
  • Includes all on-court responsibilities only
