MAJOR LEAGUE LACROSSE

TITLE: Special Events Intern

REPORTS TO: Director of Events

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Special Events Interns will gain hands on experience in planning and executing events for a professional sports league. Interns will work directly with the Director of Events to plan events such as the All-Star Game, Championship Weekend, MLL Honors, Collegiate Draft, and more. This position is open to current undergraduate and graduate students. You must receive academic credit for you experience.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Director of Events and Event Coordinators with the preparation of event materials throughout the planning and execution stages
Organize and manage event data
Communicate with outside vendors and facilities
Work in conjunction with and communicate closely with other internal departments as it relates to major events
Locate and generate ticket sales leads for events
Support event logistics

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Open to college juniors, seniors and current graduate students
Sport/Event Management background is preferred, but not required
Efficient & effective communications skills across all mediums; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
Ability to manage competing demands, frequent changes and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Willingness to take initiative, own responsibilities, and raise standard of excellence.
Must be highly organized, resourceful, a quick learner, possess an eye for sharp attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, listens to others, and willingness to try new ideas.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle media in any situation, both good and bad.
Presents self in a professional manner and can confidently interact with all levels of the organization and outside contacts.

SCHEDULE:

Mid-August through Mid-December
Full-time and part-time positions are available
Interns must have the ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays due to the nature of professional sports.
Light travel may be required
