General Position Description:
Old Glory DC Rugby is looking for a talented Video Production Intern to support game-day highlights, player features, social-first video content, and long-form storytelling. This role is ideal for someone pursuing filmmaking, content creation, sports media, or communications.
Responsibilities:
- Film practices, matches, media days, interviews, and community events
- Assist with editing videos for social media, sponsorship deliverables, and in-stadium displays
- Create engaging short-form content for TikTok, IG Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Help produce storytelling pieces (mic’d-up sessions, player profiles, hype videos)
- Organize and maintain video footage libraries
- Provide support on shoots: lighting, audio, setup, equipment prep
Required Qualifications:
Must be currently pursuing a degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field
- Basic experience filming with DSLR/mirrorless cameras or similar equipment
- Working knowledge of at least one editing program (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve)
- Strong interest in sports storytelling, highlights, and social-first content
- Ability to take direction, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working some evenings/weekends for practices, events, and home matches
- Reliable transportation to practices/events in the DMV area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience editing sports highlights or event recaps
- Familiarity with motion graphics (Adobe After Effects or similar)
- Understanding of social formats (9:16, 16:9, 4:5) and platform trends
- Knowledge of rugby or other contact sports (not required but a plus)
