About Old Glory DC
Old Glory DC is the Major League Rugby team representing the DMV. Our mission is simple: deliver a high-energy professional rugby experience that fans, families, and communities are proud to be part of.
For the 2026 season, Old Glory DC will play its home matches at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, bringing top-level rugby, entertainment, and community activation to Northern Virginia.
The Opportunity
This internship / volunteer role is a hands-on introduction to professional sports operations. You won’t be watching from the sidelines. You’ll be on the field, behind the scenes, and directly involved in making game day happen.
You’ll gain real experience in:
- Event operations
- Fan experience
- Promotions and activations
- Team and sponsor coordination
- Live sports production

Home Match Schedule (2026)
Interns and volunteers must be available for all home matches:
- Sunday, April 26 – 7:00 PM
- Sunday, May 10 – 4:00 PM
- Sunday, May 17 – 7:00 PM
- Saturday, May 30 – 4:00 PM
- Saturday, June 6 – 4:00 PM
Additional community or promotional events may be scheduled.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work directly with the Game Day Manager and Operations team. Responsibilities may include:
Game Day Setup and Breakdown
- Assist with venue setup including signage, fan zones, sponsor activations, and equipment
- Support efficient post-match breakdown and storage
Fan Experience and Engagement
- Help manage fan areas, promotions, giveaways, and hospitality spaces
- Serve as a friendly, professional point of contact for fans
Ticketing and Entry Support
- Assist with ticket scanning, will-call, and fan flow
- Help resolve basic ticketing questions on site
Vendor and Partner Support
- Assist with food vendors, sponsors, and performers on game days
- Ensure partners are set up and supported properly
On-Field and In-Game Operations
- Support halftime activities, on-field promotions, and ceremonial moments
- Assist with youth groups or community participants
Staff and Volunteer Coordination
- Help direct volunteers and part-time staff
- Ensure everyone knows where to be and when
General Operations
- Act as a floater to support whatever is needed in real time
- Help with equipment, inventory, and logistics

Basic Requirements
- Must be able to commute to George Mason University in Fairfax, VA
- Must be available for all home games
- Able to stand and walk for long periods
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs if needed
- Willing to work nights and weekends
- Professional attitude and strong customer service mindset
