About the Role

Old Glory DC, the professional Major League Rugby team representing the DMV, is looking for an energetic, confident, and engaging Game Day Host Intern / Volunteer to help bring our matchday experience to life at George Mason University.

This is a high-visibility role designed for someone who loves live events, interacting with fans, being on camera or on mic, and creating memorable moments. If you’ve ever dreamed of hosting a live sporting event, interviewing fans and players, running halftime activations or being the face of in-stadium entertainment, this role is for you.

This is an in-person, game-day-only opportunity and a great way to build real experience in sports entertainment, media, and live event hosting.

What You’ll Do

Game Day Hosting & Fan Engagement
• Serve as an on-field and in-stadium host during home matches
• Conduct live fan interviews on camera and on the concourse
• Help host halftime and in-game promotions
• Interact with fans in the stands, fan zones and tailgate areas
• Create energy, hype and engagement throughout the match
• Represent Old Glory DC’s brand and personality in a professional and fun way

On-Field & Halftime Activations
• Assist with executing sponsored activations and contests
• Help cue and guide fans selected for on-field experiences
• Work closely with the PA announcer, DJ and game day team
• Support theme nights and special events

Media & Content Support
• Assist with quick post-match fan reactions or interviews
• Support player or coach interviews when needed
• Help capture short social-media-friendly moments during the game
• Collaborate with marketing and game presentation staff

Game Presentation & Production (Add-On Experience)
• Assist with match scripts and run-of-show execution
• Help coordinate cues between host, PA, music and video board
• Support press box or control room staff when needed
• Assist with pre-game setup and post-game wrap

 • Students studying communications, media, marketing, sports management, or journalism
 • Performers, content creators, or anyone comfortable on camera or mic
 • High-energy individuals who love live sports and fan interaction

You do not need prior professional hosting experience. Confidence, personality and willingness to learn matter most.

Schedule & Commitment

• Must be available for all Old Glory DC home matches
 • Game days are primarily weekends with varying call times
 • Typical commitment includes pre-game, match time, and post-game wrap

2026 Home Matches (George Mason University):
• Sunday, April 26 – 7:00 PM
• Sunday, May 10 – 4:00 PM
• Sunday, May 17 – 7:00 PM
• Saturday, May 30 – 4:00 PM
• Saturday, June 6 – 4:00 PM

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
 • Comfortable speaking in front of crowds and on camera
 • Able to stand and move for extended periods on game days
 • Reliable transportation to George Mason University
 • Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
