The Houston SaberCats are Major League Rugby’s professional team in Houston. Interns will assist in fulfilling sponsorship agreements, coordinating activations, and supporting day-to-day operations. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the sports industry, focusing on relationship management, event activation, and marketing partnerships.

Responsibilities:
- Sponsorship Activation: Assist in the execution of sponsorship agreements, ensuring all contracted elements such as signage, digital media, in-stadium promotions, and hospitality are fulfilled.
- Client Management: Communicate regularly with sponsors to confirm activation details, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring sponsor satisfaction throughout the season.
- Research & Proposals: Research potential sponsors, compiling data on target companies for new partnerships. Help create and edit sponsorship decks and proposals to present to potential clients.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage the inventory of sponsor assets such as signage, promotional materials, and giveaways, ensuring everything is ready for events and activations.
- Recap Reports: Assist in recapping post-game footage and developing end-of-season recap reports for sponsors, including documenting sponsor activations with photos, data, and any necessary performance metrics.
- Administrative Support: Provide day-to-day support to the Corporate Partnerships Manager, including drafting contracts, preparing presentations, and organizing meetings.
- Cross-department Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, ticketing, and game day operations teams to ensure sponsor integration is seamless across all aspects of the SaberCats organization.
- Networking & Learning Opportunities: Attend partner meetings, stadium tours, and other corporate events to gain insight into the partnership process and grow your network within the industry.
Qualifications:
- Required: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or a related field.
- Strong interest in sports, sponsorships, and corporate partnerships.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude as well as demonstrating initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Ability to lift and move promotional materials and equipment as needed.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and must receive college credit. This is an unpaid internship, however there are opportunities that will arise for compensation.
- Local Houston metro area candidates preferred. Must have reliable transportation.
