The Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to serve full-time as our AmeriCorps VISTA, helping expand youth ultimate frisbee programming and community partnerships across the Twin Cities Metro Area of Minnesota. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in:
  • Professional sports and nonprofit foundation operations
  • Youth development and community engagement
  • Program management and outreach
  • Volunteer and partnership coordination
  • Marketing, communications, and event operations
Working alongside the Minnesota Wind Chill, the VISTA will help grow accessible youth ultimate frisbee programming focused on leadership, teamwork, physical activity, and social-emotional development for underserved communities.

Responsibilities
  • Support planning, design and delivery of youth programs, camps, clinics, and partnerships
  • Recruit and communicate with coaches, volunteers, and community partners
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote programs through social media, email, and outreach efforts
  • Help manage registrations, equipment, logistics, and participant communication
  • Build relationships with schools, nonprofits, parks and recreation departments, and youth-serving organizations
  • Conduct research, collect feedback and help evaluate program impact
  • Develop systems and resources that support long-term program sustainability

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Passion for youth development, sports, recreation, and/or community service
  • Strong work ethic that is proactive, self-motivated and accountable
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a federal background check
This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals interested in careers in professional sports, nonprofit leadership, education, recreation, or community development.

AmeriCorps VISTA Benefits & Compensation
  • $960 bi-weekly living allowance provided through AmeriCorps
  • End-of-service award: $7,395 Segal Education Award (scholarship/student loan repayment), or $1,800 cash stipend option
  • Relocation assistance for candidates moving 50+ miles including mileage reimbursement and $750 relocation allowance
  • 20 days of paid leave during the service term
  • Paid holidays following organization policies
  • Healthcare benefits, including no-cost coverage option for members without insurance, or healthcare allowance option for members with existing coverage
  • Childcare assistance benefits available for eligible members
