Roles and Responsibilities
The General Manager (GM) for this professional ultimate frisbee team will be primarily responsible for creating brand awareness in the community and generating revenue for the business through ticket sales, sponsorships, community relations/promotion, marketing, youth events and optimizing fan experience. The GM will have all other people in the organization report to them including the Game Day / Team Manager (GDTM).

The General Manager will be heavily involved in:
  • Supporting the Game Day / Team Manager at each event
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with community groups
  • Ticket sales and prospecting (season, group and individual)
  • Sponsorship sales
  • Working with the GDTM to plan and execute themes for each game
  • Working with the GDTM to plan and run events throughout the year, including our tryouts, practices, training camps, and youth camps and clinics.
  • Oversight of content creation and management/oversight for social media, graphic design, and written articles
  • Develop and manage any internship program
  • Interface with media and the public

Knowledge, skills, abilities:
  • Availability to work all events
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Previous experience in project and event management
  • Previous experience in sales and/or service preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide vision and direction
  • Ability to multi‐task, prioritize workload and time manage
  • Strong written, verbal and listening skills
  • Strong organizational skills, sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Must display the ability to be resourceful with internal assets
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to quick changes/requests
  • Self‐motivated, ability to take initiative and learn quickly
  • Proficient in the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Enthusiastic team player, shows enjoyment and interest in working collaboratively

Term
This is a part-time position that will be active the entire year


Compensation
The cash component is to be negotiated. It’s expected that this person is dedicated to building a new business and is willing to take some equity in the company as part of their compensation package.
