Learn the business side of professional sports and help the Detroit Mechanix grow both on and off the field. As Michigan’s professional ultimate frisbee team, competing in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA), we are committed to building the sport, expanding our fan base, and creating meaningful partnerships across the state. With home games in Lansing and preseason events in communities from Detroit to Grand Rapids, the Mechanix are looking for someone excited to help build connections that matter.
As a Sales and Partnerships Intern, you will be part of the business operations that drive the team forward. You will gain first-hand experience in ticket sales, sponsorship development, and community outreach. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, is curious about sports business, and is ready to put their skills into practice.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in outreach for season tickets, group packages, and single-game sales
- Research, identify, and help pitch potential sponsors and business partners across Michigan
- Contribute to sponsorship proposals and partnership presentations
- Represent the team at preseason events and community appearances statewide
- Support sponsorship activation on game days, ensuring partners receive strong visibility and fan engagement opportunities
- Help with in-game ticketing, activations, and fan engagement initiatives in Lansing
- Work closely with leadership to contribute ideas and strategies for growing revenue and community relationships
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a comfort level in sales and outreach settings
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in sports business and partnership development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software or sales tools is a plus
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and game days as required
